Champions that you can never go wrong with picking

I feel like and fall into this category. Both of them are insanely useful in teamfight even when behind.

Malphite can build tank, tank-AP hybrid or full AP and he works any way.

Brand just needs to find a good moment to throw his ULT alongside having a and a and the end result is him devastating teamfights.

Anyone else you can think of?

I feel like Lux is the most balanced champion that you can never go wrong picking.

Her kit is supportive in nature so it functions well on low income such as support or bad matchups in mid.

Her artillery mage nature also allows her some counterplay to matchups that other mages just die trying to do anything into.

She's rarely meta or an amazing pick, especially the higher you go, but she's consistently been around 48 - 52% winrate in both Support and Mid for all of 2018.

She hasn't been broken or useless all year, and I love that about her. Nobody bans her and nobody rushes to play her. I get to play her :)

That's why I picked her up over ADCs. I used to love Caitlyn, then I tried out Vayne, but I wanted to extend my horizons with supports and midlaners. Lux is probably my favorite.

Well first of all Brand is not even a niche pick in high elo despite its rather high popularity He lives of his former glory. He has been meh ever since spellthief nerf

Outclassed by Xerath, Taliyah, Zyra, Velkoz, Zilean, some enchanters in support role Outclassed by Syndra and Veigar in mid

All Malphite can offer is Engage so any counterengage comp nullifies him Heck a single fast reaction flash can ruin his entire kit

Cammile, Kennen, Yasuo would be good examples

Depends where. As a jungler, you can pick J4 and in 80% of the games you'll either snowball and build dmg, or transition into a half tank half support with item 3109 etc and still be relevant.

As a toplaner Gragas is pretty safe, his kit is a very good generalist. He can win a lot of lanes, he's useful later on as a tank, his losing match ups aren't as punishing as most of the toplaners.

Gnar. Even if I feed, I'm a tank that can toss 5 players into a wall to stun them. Then Stun them again.

I think Thresh, Rakan, Gragas, Veigar, Brand, Sion, Poppy and Shen are some of the safest picks in the game. It doesn't matter how extremely poor of a player you are, once your team groups as 5 you can practically solocarry the game regardless of previous performance.
