it was removed because it made certain champs too strong.

and with their anti tenacity campaign this season there choices were to get rid of the tenacity from the item entirely, making it useless, or remove the item itself entirely.
Sorry for the necro, but I just came back to this game today and I got zephyr as 3rd item on ashe after IE and I was GREAT with it with movement speed quints. Kite all day long. Damn :( Is there any replacement to this ?
yeah any day i dont have a 600 move speed running at my face ill take it...
same reason t3 boots were removed.. some champs are just stupid op with too much movespeed.

No one ever used it except for Trick2G and his bandwagon of wannabes. Not saying Trick ain't good, he's a god amongst men that's for sure, but he was one person using one item that served no other purpose.
IT just wasn't all that great. It was bought not because it was a good item, but because it was a replacement for boots. When an item is only bought by one person in all of the League of Legends often and on the rest, it's just a boots replacer, that means it's just not all too useful.
It won't be missed. At all. lol.
I think it might because when Zephyr's good then there's no point in having boots a good amount of the time.

I used to build first item but when adc items got 80ad over several items spike with increased life steal and defensive items were nerfed several times this year. even with having a spare life i couldnt stay in lane and survive and when i rarely could i pooped as soon as i met a 2 item adc from bot lane when you go mid to help push

I agree. I don't even understand why there are items at all.
Why not have a "manual calibration" option, so that instead of buying items, you simply buy AP/AD/CD/MR/AR according to the base gold value that each skill is worth.
If the items themselves are mispriced (overvalued), then this is an advantage to buy an item, but there should still be an option to just increase the skill level per the amount that your current gold can buy.

Not sure if necro or not but... I really miss the zephyr, I could just pop on some movespeed quints and when i had the zephyr built i'd be uncatchable. The days of glory shall be missed.
