I did a past week view to see topics about Janna and found none. What are your views in new preseason? Strong, weak?
She just had a pretty massive remake and subsequent nerfs, but I held off on playing her until the dust settled. She is amazingly strong right now with new runes. I find myself doing either top or 2nd to top in damage overall, and having her change from passive shield support into aggressive poke mage made her a lot more fun and interactive.

She doesn't -need- ardent anymore either. She is all about W max and Poke in lane now. I've been using Arcane Comet, and am averaging 3.3k from the passive alone. I tend to build AP and match or exceed our dedicated APC, while providing massive support and CC to the team. W cooldown is short to the point it's usable 3-4 times in a teamfight, which can kill an enemy APC / ADC by itself. Ardent is great for the added damage/atk speed, and I really enjoy athene's for the healing and AP spike from the Disharmony passive.
Funnily enough, she hard counters tank supports in lane with W max and can interrupt their combos with ease.

Mafia LeBlanc1 votesShe interrupts his pull with a simple Q. Same with Leona and thresh. They are easy matchups for Janna. I personally really struggle against Blitz since there is nothing Janna can do if he pulls either Janna or the ADC, esp if it's an ADC like Cait or Jhin who can immediately CC chain after the pull. You're just screwed.
Karma is also a hard counter, since Janna can't poke her at all between Karma's own shield and aoe spammable poke. Her snare is just brutal too.
But beyond those, many enemy support/adc combo's are very easy with Janna's huge threat radius with a charging Q, and herding them with the threat of a W.

meta is over, but with the new runes such as Aery or Guardian, she can be really strong.
zaire901 votesHonestly I havent been in the bot lane in the longest when I realized that the popular supports were ones like brand and shit I stopped going down there immediately like I did last preseason because thats a hell I dont put myself through
EcchiOtakuTM1 votesJanna has always been a sleeper strong champ, however with the ardent nerfs and kill lanes becoming more apparent. Even though assassinations are stronger if she can't survive lane she isn't going to be played.
