All around thoughts
I have been playing league of Legends for a good 3 years which doesn't sound like a long time at all. I must say that riot is not a righteous company when it comes to many of the negative sides that league has. In the past year I have taken the time to learn all 5 roles so that I can say I can't play all the roles... maybe not perfectly but I have taken the time to learn them all. I can say I'm pretty good at all of them except mid lane but sometime I surprise myself. In saying this someone once told me that you can't play ranked without knowing all the roles. So that's what I did. I still cannot seem to understand one thing though I'm still being matched with people who are lower level than me. I don't mean lower as in ranking but in terms of skill. When my in game kill ratio has improved tremendously I am still being matched with people who's kill ratio is still under par. I mean 5/8 kill ratio's when I'm getting 13/6 ratio's. Honestly I have to say the tribunal site on the League of Legends site has been under maintenance for the past 3 years... Rumors have it that anyone in bronze, silver, and gold are less likely to get banned because then riot will lose money somehow. All I'm saying that I think riot needs to come to a righteous understanding that yes this is a game, but when people invest this much time in a game they want to see results. As I said I took an entire year to learn all 5 roles and I can say I have learned a lot, but I'm still ranked bronze 4. There are far too many trolls at these levels and when no one is getting banned for what is happening then how is it supposed to fix "itself?" I have gotten a chat restriction this year so I know something is happening, but truly not enough. I think we should come up with a five level training for each of the five roles so that people can not only play what they wish to play, but to actually put what they want to achieve in results on the field. I wanted to play top for the longest time and was terrible at it for the longest time. Now I can play it with a good confident feeling going into the game. I actually learned to play these roles while playing ranked games all year round. Which sounds counter productive, but really does that job. In other words the training I'm suggesting should be at the level of higher level ranked games. This will allow the learner to get feel as if he or she isn't good enough, and eventually will see small changes in there game play that they will start to see an over game change. You see too many people want to play ranked because of its name "ranked". What they don't realize is that it takes dedication and work to move up. You don't deserve a ranking you earn it...since this isn't just a single player game but rather a multiplayer game relying on your team to win. The rank you earn isn't solely yours. We must realize this as well because many times people blame it on the person who is complaining that they are the ones who are not good enough. No... not the case... many times in game complaining is a means of telling your team to step it up a notch...this immediately sparks tension and the team ends up arguing. What would have been a win is now a loss. No one is perfect or will be, but for people who are taking the measures needed to ranking up and not achieving the results desired should be investigated. I think match making should be based on not solely ranked but people skills.
