Should supports take kills?

as a support main, I feel like most of the time in lane, the support is the carry.

let me ask you could a ADC with normal IQ and skill beat up an ADC and a support (not retarded ones or bots) no, so support really make the big plays early game and call the shots, when people say support don't need kills, it's half right half wrong, its right because if supports get fed, they can get key items early (boots,sightstone,redemption) on the other side tho, adcs are suppose to be fed as soon as possible, an adc cant just live with assists that why everyone prefers adc rather then the other role in bot, some people dont understand certain build paths on champions for ex: (based off personal experience) 26:12:jinx: wtf leona why do u have you r the sup 26:13:Leona: u guys can win team fight with out me, so i got zzrot so i can split push 26:14:jinx:lol your support you cant split push. now get your fucking ass here and peel for me.

honestly, i know the need to peel my adc, but she already 1v3ed for a triple (STILL A FUCKING LIVE) so i dont see the need to peel. plus we had ivern, i swear he can peel, and we had a really fed nasus, and then jinx started flaming me about "you took 6 kills in lane" ummmm jinx you have 26 kills, and i have 7.

cmon, is taking kills as a support that wrong????

Just secure kills at all times, whoever gets it gets it. That's how I've always done it.

If it's serious, Marksmen scale much better with gold than supports do. Supports are usually base damage oriented mages and CC utility oriented champions. These champions scale with level rather than gold.

In terms of DPS, a marksmen with a two item spike scales multiplicatively in terms of damage. Mage supports tend not to do this, and they tend to fall off later into the game with their utility being what matters.

ZZ'rot got nerfed for supports in SoloQ. It's a sieging item. It's not that great to leave in a side lane anymore, and if you're splitting on leona your teams pick potential and fighting potential drops because of the lack of ability to make picks as well. Not to mention, your taking gold from someone who could potentially use it better late game.

While iverns good, your team has stupid pick potential with both of you. Why wouldn't you just group so you can end the game faster? Splitting as leona not only takes gold from your ADC mid game, but gives them a chance to come back.

No, you mostly get full build before your adc if you have tons of freaking assists

why take kills if you can get assists and full build before your team?

no. unless your adc cant secure the kill b\c hes dead or too far away, then go ahead and take it. the point of this school of thought is that kills are much less effective on supports. they dont have the snowball potential that adc's, assassins, and mages have. thats why you want every possible kill to be taken by anyone but the support

as a support player and ex main, only take kills if your adc might die, never intentionally take them, it makes your adc scale horrible and then they're useless, i'd rather have my jhin be fed then me as nami be fed

Ban dat mofo i play killer Karma everytime my adc bot not farm or is r%%%%%ed and rather cry you may not take kill istead to kill.. i know i was already ADC... What i can do.. my fisrt item was rabadon why? Coz my enemy adc have faking twice cs than my.. and i go destroy mode.. ya my q deal ton of dmg.. i dont care i can do double kil if my adc dont even know to farm.. and start cry you killSteal(bro chek my dmg after game then talk..) no i dont KS.. i simply faking deal more dmg than you pus.. and you canot kill them then.. i gona make it.. 10000time... If there is a smallest chance the enemy might escape - take it.

Otherwise, we have to give them kills (unforturnately).

In lane: Support job is to save the adc, start the fight, disable the enemy, SET THE WHOLE KILL and then leave 1 hp so the adc can come and kill him with basic attack. And yet everyone thinks supports are useless LOL. Real support feeds his adc, he MAKES him a beast.

Appreciate your support, you are 0 without it adc main. :)

Edit: or just take burst support who can make a good use of kills and gold ;).

The support meta this season seems to be high-damage supports.

Malzahar Zyra Lux MissFortune Morgana Karma are all popular and strong right now. I'm actually waiting for (and expecting to a certain degree) champions like Orianna Taliyah Veigar to find their way into the support pool, since the current support pool mostly consists of "control mages with utility aspects".

When any of the above champions (in either pool) get fed, they do a lot of damage and can absolutely take over games. Though the marksman getting fed is slightly better, it's not anything to worry about when the allied support gets fed -- and everything to worry about when the enemy support gets fed.

Doesn't matter if you're stronger than the adc, they still put the gold to better use.

That said, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush so you better make sure they don't get away into that bush.
