Friendly reminder that you agreed to Riot.

No, this post wasn't written in the basement of a neckbeard.

When creating an account, the first thing they ask you to do, accepts the terms of service and the summoners code.

and with you agreeing to all this, Riot can deem your actions bannable or not.

Sometimes its not bannable, you had an off game, or you were first timing a hard champion, things happen.

But saying that Riot can't ban you because you bought 900 skins is wrong, because you are an honorable player is wrong.

Riot can ban you, if they believe you are doing things that you agreed not to.

trolls do get banned.

boosters do get banned.

Everyone gets banned if they break the rules.

something you think is bannable, could not be, an off-meta build/champ/role, a player feeding his ass off because half the enemy team is somehow always ambushing him, is not intentional.

and typing requires you to think about what you are going to say and type that fully in as opposed to speaking in real life, where words can come out that you didn't want to.

that concludes the post that won't change anything. because no one is going to read this before they post

80% of the playerbase probably hasn't even read the Terms of Use.

...Myself included.

technically, Riot can ban you for no reason at all.

they own the game and the servers. your ability to use them is completely dependent on Riot's permission.

Totally agree with this. As for the chat thing, if you can't stop yourself from being toxic in chat, then don't ever use it. If you need to scream at your computer screen, do it, but don't take it in game. Do I get mad at my teammates for doing something intentionally that loses is the game? You be I do, but I keep it in the real world, not the cyber world. As a result, I complain and snap at anyone that irritates me.... And I never get banned for doing so. It's seriously that simple.

Too bad the standards changed since I and many others signed up

Banter used to be allowed; now its not

Also, those terms of service aren't universal, therefore not very defendable in my book. If i was on the Korean server I could say whatever the hell I want, but on NA I can't? Doesn't seem very fair to me

So other servers can be reasonable but we have to ban people for talking?

Riot's behavior team for NA/EU is ridiculous

Sure, we agreed. We had a real choice after all. It's like living in some hypothetical and totally non-existent communist country and have a choice - agree with your leader and love him or die. And if you choose to live, you(obviously) agree with any insane idea that crops up in his aging mind.

League is a nice game, but Rito's policies make me feel like a guinea pig.

I think most people know that Riot can ban you and have the right to. What I think really bothers people is the shitty practices. I don't think people want to be afraid under a company and fear losing everything at a whim.

In my opinion, the fact that Riot has the right is a dead horse by now. It's been said time and time again. That's not really what people are concerned with, and telling people "that's just how it is, suck it up" isn't going to make them feel any better about said practices. I think what really would get people excited is if they felt that they played under a company that had their best interest in mind, not the company's.

Okay smart guy, friendly reminder that the ToS actually doesn't say you have to abide by the Summoner's Code to avoid a ban, what it says is that they can terminate any account without notification or reasoning. So you're not any safer pretending you're some sort of moral god than someone who gets mad at others for feeding.
