Why is Yasuo's Windwall stronger than Braum's Unbreakable?

TequilaZombie··12 votes·1,260 views

This is not a Yasuo bashing post, nor a post asking to have Braum's shield changed. I'm just curious.

From a design perspective: Why does the Melee ADC allowed to have a better version of a Support's ability?

It's not a better version.

Why does the Melee ADC allowed to have a better version of a Support's ability?

It's the other way around. A Support has a worse (situationally) version of a melee ADC ability.

.... and that refutes his point how?

That's like him asking "Why was Batman shot with a gun?" and you say "He wasn't shot with a gun, he was wounded with a firearm that discharged a bullet!" and it's like... "Yeah.... ok.... that doesn't really.... /facepalm"

I wasn't refuting his point.

I wasn't refuting his point.

Then your argument was destroyed.

His was victorious.

I will give you the benefit of the considerable doubt and say you missed the point rather than are making adorable attempts at trolling; It's the other way around because Yasuo came first. If you'd like an analogy, it's like the saying "You have your mother's eyes". It isn't ever the other way around.

None of that is relevant, your original argument was defeated.

Nothing further needs to be stated.

Confirmed, trolling.

No further argument needed because you're intentionally being too dense to accept a blatantly obvious argument.

Well you can move it and it gives a speed boost so its not always worse.

Windwall is immobile, unbreakable is not. Not to mention you are comparing champions that do radically different things in their kits.

Well, the champions indeed do entirely different things. And that's exactly my point. While unbreakable can be situationally better, Windwall is, overall a stronger version of it, doing the same thing, but better in all aspects other than mobility. And that's my question. Why is the stronger one given to the Damage dealer and the overall weaker one to the Tank Support? Shouldn't it be the other way around, at least from a pure design perspective?

Windwall is not objectively stronger than Unbreakable, they do different things. Besides, it is all relative to the kit. It seems you are trying to get in on the fuck Yasuo circlejerk.

Here's what you sound like: Why is Morgana's q a better version of Ryze's q? It does more damage, and even roots, and has a longer range. What's wrong with this statement is that Ryze's kit is vastly different, and a lot of the power of his q, comes from the interactions with his other abilities. Which are, reseting it's cooldown, amplifying its damage, and granting him a shield/MS.

Similarly, Braum's Unbreakable allows him to move around, which fits well with his ability to jump to and protect allies. You cannot do that with windwall.

Unbreakable has different perks: ✔Reduce Melee attack damage that hits the shield ✔Lower Cooldown at all points of the game, up to 6s CD at max rank with 40% CDR (Yasuo doesn't itemize for CDR, Braum does) ✔Can be moved ✔Gives movespeed and ignores movement collision ✔Can be moved (Seriously, you're not valuing this part enough) ✔(Iffy) Unbreakable can still get some use out of it even if the Braum player fucks up

At the end of the day, different champions do different things

Windwall and Unbreakable are meant for drastically different things.

Unbreakable is meant to be a movable shield so that the Braum player can easily peel for his adc. This is further complimented by the fact that it gives Braum movement speed and allows him to ignore unit collision for it's duration. It also reaches a much lower cooldown than Yasuo's windwall at later stages of the game. Yes, Braum still takes some of the damage Unbreakable absorbs, but Braum is a tank, Yasuo is not.

Braum's is better from a support perspective. He can move with his adc/himself where Yassy's is stationary.
