PSA: "I can't wait to get out of this Elo!" ~ The suffering ladder climber
So you play a game. You're doing fine. Things seem to be going alright. Then you notice that a teammate dies. Then another. And another. And.... another. You realize, your once comfortable 10 v 0 lead has now dropped to 10 v 6. It's okay, you're just whacking away at that tower, taking the dragon. You're still winning. However you notice that your teammates start to get a little rowdy with their words. "Oh, Garen what the hell!? Why did you just stand there while they jumped on me!?" "What did you expect me to do? My moves were on CD!" "Well you should have saved them for when we fought, you idiot." "Well you shouldn't keep getting caught you worthless bronzie." Then they flame, then they get on tilt.
Now you notice you're angry now, because it seems like your team is falling apart around you. It's like they WANT to lose. Don't they want to get to plat? Then diamond? Why are they throwing? Why are they falling apart? Then you die. Then you die again. And again. And again. then you notice you're not getting towers and they're knocking on your inhib, now your nexus turrets. You shout at your team to make what you consider to be the best play. Like, you get their jungler on a pick and you ping for your team to do baron rush and instead, they chase and get caught out and die!
Then you lose. But then in your frustration, you type /all Freaking worthless teammates, I can't WAIT to get out of this freaking elo. Then you all flame and rage during the end screen. And you leave, knowing that one more team of boosted bronzies lost you another game.
In your aftergame frustration, you dream of reaching the legendary elos, Diamond, Master, Challenger..... You dream of having perfect teammates. You dream of a world with no flaming. No feeders. No raging. People making the most perfect plays. Oh, Diamond... Master... Challenger. Oh how beautiful it must be to be there. Not a care in the world. Every game fun. Amazing teammates. Awesome plays. Just a perfect utopia of the best players in the world. All playing together.....
Has this happened to you? Does it still happen to you? Do you dream of being in a world where the bronzies are trapped in their cesspool of elo-hell whilst you live the good life?
Well, allow me to make something clear to you. There's a reason why it's called a dream. Reality is real.
There is no perfect elo. It doesn't exist. The range of flamers and rage quitters and feeders does -not- stop. And it never will... in fact some people have said it gets worse the higher you go. I have spoke to several different players in high elo, diamond 2 - Master etc and they all say the same thing. "It doesn't change."
Look at the videos in the youtube recordings of high elo players. Read the chat. Watch the match. People are still raging, flaming and sometimes rage quitting.
I'm not high elo. And I probably never will be. I'll probably be eternally dusting off my Gold chair from now till the end.
To say that there is no difference between Bronze and Diamond, would be a horrible lie. But tricking yourself into believing that you'll reach the promised land of elo, is an even bigger lie.
There are people who believe that Diamond 3 is elo hell. I'm not kidding you.
Now I'm not trying to discourage you guys. I'm not trying to say that you shouldn't try and climb. But I'm just bringing out, that reaching the high elos, will not be the end of your suffering. It will not be the end of your misery. It will only introduce more. Imagine if you're Diamond and you lose... HARD. Like, 0/9. Now you have your teammates calling you a boosted diamond. And claiming that you paid to get there.
There are some other horror stories that high elo players will tell you. Ask around and I'm sure they'll be more than willing to share.
In conclusion, just climb because you want to climb. Climb to prove to yourself how good you are. Cause you're trudging through the desert of elo, just to reach the oasis... you'll soon learn that it's only a mirage.
