is quicksilver sash gold efficient?

i understand that the active is REALLY good but the stats are.. terrible

it builds out of which is only 450G and gives 25 magic resist

but QSS all together costs 1300 gold and only gives an extra 5 magic resist

so you're paying 850G for an active really, 5 MR doesn't make much of a difference

i love this item, especially on vayne, who can tumble out of the way of skillshot cc, but point and click cc really fucks her up. is it worth getting if they don't have an AP? i usually get it if they have a good zed, even if their entire team is ad. im paying for MR i don't need.

but the active is so good..

The stats are awful because all the power lies in its active.

You don't buy it for the stats you buy it for the active.

yeah i mean, i like getting it and i understand the active is very strong, i just wasn't sure if i was wasting my money or not. i usually get it as my 3rd or 4th item, and i don't get it EVERY game but most games im playing have a zed or hard point and click cc.

just wondering because i don't see it super often when i watch adc streamers in high elo

Streamers in high elo buy it less because their mechanics allow them to dodge just about everything.

You'll notice it's almost always a third item for adcs in the LCS.

For good reason.

i don't watch lcs a whole lot honestly i was mostly going off adcs in challenger soloq, but i guess that counts a lot less than lcs. thanks!

You don't pay for the stats, you pay for the active that allows you to not die. If the stats were gold efficient, the item would be broken having its just a part of a bigger item, probably one of the few exceptions that allows you to cast the active before having the full item.

Imagine if you could cast stasis from item 3191

Yes. It works the same way as with Dota's BKB. The stats are abysmal but the active is what makes it worth buying. The same holds true for item 3157 . I don't care for its stats albeit the armor is nice when facing an AD midlaner but the active is what really drives me to purchase the item.
