being banned has made this game more fun

since being banned for 2 weeks in early November, i find i'm starting to enjoy league again.

at first, of course, i wanted to go back to being a bitch, calling out my teammates for every mistake, blaming everyone but myself, using cheesy annoying champs to win games easily and bm constantly

but that's .. just not fun

not only do i not bm anymore because of the threat of permaban, the game is actually just better when you're not intentionally creating a negative environment. so all you people saying you HAVE to call your team bad or they won't learn, it's not true. people learn more and perform better when you reward good plays instead of punishing bad ones.

i think, if you've been punished and still have a chance at reform, it's important to remind yourself every once in a while that it's just a game. you should be enjoying it, your team should be enjoying it, and you shouldn't take it so seriously all the time, especially in norms. tell your support gj after a good engage. thank shen for ulting you. tell blitz he's a god every time he lands a hook (blitz players love being called a god specifically for some reason)

enjoy the game. don't worry so much about winning. just enjoy it and don't be a dick.

*genuinely heartfelt slow clap

I'd like to rather heartily shake your hand. Then pull you in for one of those surprise get-over-here hugs. (っ´∀`)っ

Was permabanned on one account(this account). Made a lengthy self realization post that got 80 upvotes in the new behavioral system about my view on toxicity and how it was a false representation of who I am(and how it grows and breeds like a cancer cell). Have another account, never been banned since. Part of it is the realization that there is no winning by engaging in toxic behavior with the trolls and people who are clearly going to be punished. Part is that it's takes away from my fun and in general is not healthy. Another part is I do not care anymore to defend myself over a video game and something that has literally zero in real life value to me.

Most importantly it was about going back to my core values of who I am online vs in real life. I'm a sensible, non-violent, and educated person in real life. I know it's easy to be someone else online, and releasing all frustrations about someones behavior to them online. It's just not worth it, and quite frankly built up more stress than it was relieving.

I commend you for being honest about your behavior but also taking the initiative to change. Nobody is perfect(as much as some people on these boards would like to believe), growth and improvement is the only path to success.

Hasn't made it more fun for me. Perma-banned on 2 accounts (Like I give a fuck)

The amount of braindead people on this game is just too much for me at this point. I think I'm done with LoL. I'll still watch the pros though.

sniff sniff I wish more people were like you, actually learning from bans instead of making another account and doing the same thing all over again...:3

The feels.

Got chat restricted for turbo foul language 3 months ago. Game just got so much better when I stopped that bs attitude.

I don't see what's the fun factor of offending anonymous people in an on-line game. I suppose it's the 4chan effect.

I prefer the going full tryhard, being a b*tch to everything, and eventually winning the game (whining every step of the way) method of playing League.

HELP! a similar thing happened to me. i came back to league after playing another game for weeks and it felt refreshing, however after countless hours of playing i found myself developing a negative & unpleasant attitude again. do you guys have any tips on how to desalinize?

Positive reinforcement is a thing*[slayer-pantheon-thumbs]*

Congrats bro! Well done :)

Being banned does nothing more than delay the inevitable and eventually strips the public gaming community of very much needed relevant account-related content. It should be of no surprise that many people simply over-value winning to the point of degrading everyone and everything around the their team every time they lose; it's human of us, and it's the very reason we're even alive right now [we can't accept failure in this volatile world we live in]. This should actually be expected, and soothed [not punished]. If Riot Games would simply get together, figure out and study what elements about this game add fuel to the fire and worsen things, and then try to find ways to control and throttle back negativity as a whole, then maybe this community wouldn't be as vile anymore. Maybe Riot Games will one day unlock the secret to being a normal player [that is, not an employee with infinite IP/RP, always joining together with other employees for never-random/always-premade gaming while being completely disconnected from the actual randomness queue and potentially immune to the very justice system they so eagerly support, who thus knows almost nothing of what an actual random player feels and/or thinks and/or goes through, esp. when it comes to the draconian systems RG has in place].
