Riot Meddler's own personal opinion he shared, which he stated isn't Riot's official opinion, however I happen to share it, is that the Shurima Shuffle and the ranged DPS that Azir has (or had before he got gutted) are too powerful to both be on the same champion and the same time, and we saw this exactly when he was powerful and is why he was gutted in the first place; in the competitive scene, Azir was the mid lane meta. Riot is planning on giving both Azir and Kalista buffs, both of whom are gutted in the current patch, in order to try to get them a bit closer to the sweet spot, where they're "alright for the people who want play them, but not so strong that they define the meta." I mean, I freaking love Kalista and I can't even play her right now without guaranteeing my team to lose unless my support is incredibly aggressive and helps me get as many kills as I can in lane phase, and then the enemy team surrenders before I fall off.
