If you have to rework Evelynn...

...can you please do me a favor and keep her build variety? I don't want her to be forced to build AP to be viable, nor do I want her to be forced to build AD to be.

If you're fine with keeping her build variety as open-ended as it currently is, I'm sure all of us are willing to welcome the rework with open arms.

Finding new and unique but viable builds is part of the fun of LoL. If you take that away from the only stealth champion I love playing, then... I hate you.

The usual problem with build variety is that one build gets out of line, Riot nerfs the champ, and then that build becomes the only one that woriks. And then you have people who actually complain about the alternate builds, especially if any of those builds are seen in pro play. (The people who thought Tank Ekko and Yasuo were the most cancerous thing since sliced bread)

They were pretty cancerous though.

Wait, since when is sliced bread cancerous?

Mold is basically cancer tbh

Glory ln Death1 votes

Not really. Mold is a separate organism. Cancer is just an organism's own cells that have been corrupted.

Yes, I know. I was joking.

Nontanks turning into full tanks is a little different than a choice between AP and AD.

I hate when champs are strictly this build and if you deviate, you die.

They recently reworked her. I doubt they will rework her significantly anytime soon.

They reworked the wording on stealth mechanics, which didn't effect Evelynn at all. Additionally, they've stated that the VGU team who worked in Galio would be moving to Evelynn after he was completed. He's on the PBE now, which means he's no longer in their hands and they've officially started work on her.

Regarding Evelynn, hybrid building is not really great for character design or the game in general. It allows for too much versatility, and often has to many moving parts to make them able to be balanced properly. For example, if an AP Rylai's Evelynn build is nuking people, if they nerf it, an AD build could pop up that could be equally as damaging. So not only would hybrid build options provide too many avenues for a champion to be building completely out of control, they are also extremely hard to itemize against, which isn't healthy for the game. That's why Jax and Akali have been giving the balance teams hives over the years, their hybrid damage makes them rough to balance and properly put in place. This is especially important because Evelynn has access and will keep access to one of the most powerful stealth mechanics in the game. If they intend to keep her with her perma stealth, they can add more balance levers to her future kit by limiting her build paths so that they only have to concern themselves with a more limited number of interactions with items. I think hybrid building is honestly a relic of the past, and I don't think making Evelynn pure AP would be that much of an issue.

She's been confirmed to be next in line to be reworked along with urgot.

Nope, every champion they rework loses their build diversity. Look at Fizz, Malzahar, Katarina, rengar and kha. Fiz could go ap aa, kata could go W max tanky ap, artillery Kha mid, on hit rengar, ad malzahar, etc.

I disagree on the Kata one, she still has good variety and it is just most tend to build AP because it looks obvious She can't go AP tank as well as before but rather she can now go AD+AP tank, AD tank, Full AP and so on it manages to work out well, apart from the lack of any utility you serve as basically a half-diver half-assassin when going bruiser-ish in terms of build

Ap aa means nashtors, wits, rage blade and all ap items. He still goes tank and it's better than ap.

I was talking about mid on hit fizz full ap.

The new kat can build a litle bit of AD so I think that's enough variety for me.

i dont think they give a fuck about what you want xd

Tbh i wish riot would give us at least an item or two for hybrid builds. Or even a hybrid pen item. Th e old rageblade was a great hybrid item but instead of balancing the item out they turned it jnto something that only a select few champs can build. The buold path on it now is awful and the cost is just not worth the time to ever consider rushing.

I miss old rageblade on eve :(. Id run ap jgl item with rageblade into tanky bruiser build. It was so good on her <3. Kinda wanna see how they rework eve and hope she has some viability in this meta because currently imo shes a niche pick at best sadly

Malzahar Did someone mention being able to build AD and/or AP?

If this is any indication of whats in store for you.

Personally i'd rather she be an AP jungler. We don't have many of them.

I'm afraid keeping her viable for both AP and AD would handicap her design potential

YoungSirJ0ey1 votes

She*

Also, we have even less hybrid junglers. As in Jax and maybe Xin.

I agree with this post. However, looking at past reworks and riot's hatred of hybrid champs, I wouldn't get my hopes up. Riot doesn't care about things like that. Reworks can be anything from pretty close to what the old champ was to a functional delete of the champ. It's impossible to know which is going to happen before hand.
