Quinn's ultimate is really lame

KoKoboto··7 votes·2,433 views

Quinn's kit is pretty lack luster already. Q - skill shot in a line that has CC W- AoE vision E- dash and jump back

So maybe she'd have a cool ultimate? ##Nope.

Comparing her ultimate to other ultimates that are similar (don't do a lot, aren't big explosions).

Udyr : basically it's his whole gameplay about choosing stances and stuff. Pretty cool and allows you to change your damages. It's more of a basic spell but it works for Udyr. Vayne : draws our a huge crossbow which is cool, gives her stealth on Q which is super cool. Rammus : after the small rework it became a "you can't move at all" zone which is cool. Twitch : gives him an insane steroid on his auto attacks which is cool. Heimerdinger : allows you to super enhance one of his abilities which is cool and nice. Karma : same as donger but a bit worse. TwistedFate : semi-global teleport instantly is pretty cool, also reveals all enemy champions. Jax : pretty lame ult tbh but it gives him that cool passive and has unique scaling on it.

Irelia : yeah her ultimate is lame but I'm imagining a lot of Irelia mains have grown to love it. Quinn : bonus movement speed and a little effect when you cancel it.

Quinn's ultimate doesn't feel like an ultimate ability. It feels really dull to use and lame. Now you pretty much only play with 3 abilities because you don't think about using her ultimate you just use it.

Massive speed and positioning and getting to places twice as fast as anyone else is way more interesting than most of the boring ass "big damage and cc" ults in League or random give me more ad buff ults.

You can cross out getting to places twice as fast as anyone else.

AurelionSol Talon Kassadin TwistedFate Taliyah Kled Galio Shen Rengar Khazix Corki Nocturne Pantheon Ryze Warwick TahmKench Nidalee summoner 12

A lot of champions are good at moving around the map so it's not that unique. Quinn actually has the most dull version of moving around the map in comparison to other champions. She just gets bonus MS while others have more indepth mechanics for their roaming.

What do you mean by positioning?

Twitch and Vayne ults aren't "random", they're core to the gameplay of both champions. Vayne gets to feel like the night hunter and gets stealth mechanic. Twitch feels explosive and like an assassin with his ultimate.

tp is a summoner with a 300 CD

and the rest of those champs have limited mobility and nothing like the cross map potential of Quinn.

Quinn actually has the most dull version of moving around the map in comparison to other champions.

No, because she's by far the fastest of them all and can also use it as positioning.

She just gets bonus MS while others have more indepth mechanics for their roaming.

Pressing r to teleport and pressing r to go a bit faster is no more in depth than Quinn's pressing R to go faster.

In fact it's worse, because Quinn uses it for mobility and positioning together.

Twitch and Vayne ults aren't "random", they're core to the gameplay of both champions. Vayne gets to feel like the night hunter and gets stealth mechanic. Twitch feels explosive and like an assassin with his ultimate.

And Quinn's core gameplay is going faster around the map than any other champ.

What's the issue?

What do you mean by positioning?

You don't know what positioning is? Seems to me you don't really understand Quinn... or the game at that, positioning speaks for itself. You can flank, gank and do numerous things like no one else as Quinn.

She has the best ult of all of those listed in my opinion.

In your opinion, she has the worst. You just don't like it and don't understand how to use it.

Vayne gets to feel like the night hunter and gets stealth mechanic.

And Quinn gets to fly with Valor and go fast as hell.

I've mained Quinn since season 3 and I have ~180 games on Quinn since her rework. Countless games before her rework because I ONLY played Quinn unfortunately there was no match history back than though. I'd also like to make sure I'm clear here.

I'm not arguing about the effectiveness of Quinn's ultimate. I am arguing about how it doesn't feel like an ultimate ability. It is powerful but it just doesn't match up to her old ultimate that could do so much more. Also in comparison to other ultimate abilities, there's barely any depth. Hell, basic abilities have more depth than Quinn's ultimate.

Pressing r to teleport and pressing r to go a bit faster is no more in depth than Quinn's pressing R to go faster.

Was hoping to find some copy pasta from myself but it's been awhile...

Quinn's ultimate:

BEHIND ENEMY LINES - FIRST ACTIVE: Quinn channels for 2 seconds. Upon completing it successfully, Valor picks her up and they unite, increasing her total movement speed.

That's literally all it does. Skystrike does barely nothing now because it's only a 0.4 Tad ratio with no base damage. You also get to keep it up as long as you're out of combat so it's basically mobility boots and you don't have to think about "when" to use it, you just use it. That's power without gameplay.

Power Without Gameplay This is when we give a big benefit in a way that players don't find satisfying or don't notice. The classic example of this is team benefit Auras. In general, other players don't value the aura you give them very much, and you don't value it much either -- even though auras can win games. As a REALLY general example, I would say that players value a +50 armor aura only about twice as much as a +10 armor aura... Even though +50 is 5x better. Another example would be comparing a +10 damage aura to a skill that every 10 seconds gives flaming weapons that make +30 damage to all teammates next attack (with fire and explosions!). I am pretty sure that most players are WAY more excited about the fiery weapons buff, even though the strength is lower overall.

It's not even an ultimate ability it's basically a passive, you have no reason NOT to use it. There's no cooldown to make your choice of using the ultimate feel significant and all it does it give bonus movement speed.

Which transitions to my next point in that there are much more fun and unique ways to make roaming work and all the champions I've listed have more in depth mechanics to their roaming.

Firstly ima strike out one major point, all of their ultimates have cooldowns, pretty long cooldowns. This means the player has to make a choice when to use their ultimate because it's a tool that they don't have access to all the time. Now that that's out of the way I'll take like 2 "teleport" examples and 2 "gotta go fast" examples.

TwistedFate Destiny

FIRST CAST - DESTINY: Twisted Fate gains and grants his allies True Sight icon true sight of all enemy champions for a few seconds and, after a 0.5 seconds delay, becomes able to use Gate once for the duration.

SECOND CAST - GATE: Twisted Fate channels for 1.5 seconds, blinking to the target location upon completion.

One of the simpler abilities but still feels like an ultimate. Reveals all enemy champions which makes it a great scouting tool and challenges the player's game knowledge. For example for checking objectives or checking for targets, but anyways that's not the main point of the ultimate however destiny is what makes gate useful.

Firstly there is a channel time and the enemy can see where you're teleporting if you teleport in vision. So the player needs to think of a good place to teleport so that they're not a sitting duck after completing the channel. On the other side the player has to be aware of what is near them when channeling so that they don't get screwed. The ability is allowed to be this powerful because of it's longer cooldown, just to tie into the cooldown point. If you've ever watched LCS there are many clutch TF ult plays getting out of situations and making plays, casters and analyst recognize good use of Destiny Gate and see the thought that goes behind it.

Pantheon Grand Skyfall

ACTIVE: Pantheon begins channeling and, after 2 seconds, leaps into the air and becomes untargetable. He then blinks to the target location and plummets down, striking after 1.5 seconds and becoming targetable once more.

Another simple ability In terms of casting and the channel follows the same principles as Twisted Fate ult, gotta be in a position where enemies can't stop you. However there are a few big contrasting points. Because of the really high amount of magic damage you gotta think of more things. Do I ult just to position near the enemy, for example go behind the back line, or do you try to ult right on top of the enemy for the insane damage. The 3.5s total time of the spell to take effect also means that the player really needs to plan ahead.

Warwick Blood Hunt How about non-ultimate ability?

Enemy champions below that amount are also Blood Hunted, granting him out of combat bonus movement speed while moving toward them as well as highlighting their position to his team.

The bonus movement and attack speed are tripled against enemy champions below 20% maximum health. ACTIVE: Warwick briefly senses all enemies and then Blood Hunts the nearest enemy champion within a large radius for 8 seconds, regardless of their current health.

You are able to match Quinn's level of movement speed but under circumstances that Warwick has to play around. The limitation of having an enemy be below 50% is there which gives the ability depth but, like other abilities, challenges a players game sense with predicting where the enemy is for the active part. The blood hunt effect also is really nice and doesn't make the chase that easy. The ability is strong but not strong enough to be an ultimate.

Khazix Evolve: Adaptive Cloacking

EVOLVED ADAPTIVE CLOAKING: While out of combat, Kha'Zix also passively gains Void Assault for 3 seconds in brush. This persists for up to 1.5 seconds after exiting the brush (10 second per brush cooldown).

So it's basically a passive ability but still has more depth than Quinn's ultimate and feels so fucking fun to use. First off you gain a pretty strong movement speed steroid but this is only if you touch brush. This means the player has to think about their pathing in order to maintain the movement speed steroid. Moreover their is an individual cooldown per brush that the player needs to be aware of and it also grants Kha'Zix a completely new way to get to his targets.

And these are arguably the simpler "get around the map" spells.

Once again you ALWAYS use Quinn's ultimate if you're out of combat and not expecting to be in combat instantly. There is no instance where you don't want to use Quinn's ultimate because it is the most efficient way to move around the map and it doesn't have a significant cooldown. Yeah moving around the map is unique to Quinn but there is little depth to the ability and it feels awful for an "ultimate" ability. Some Quinn players have suggested the ultimate just be made into a passive ability (go to r/Quinnmains), because that's just how lacking the ability feels (most Quinn players want her reverted/reworked again). The only thing you play around with Quinn's ultimate is making sure you don't get hit, just like mobility boots. Yeah Quinn can flank and stuff but so can every single other champion because her ultimate is just movement speed.

Ultimate's don't always have to be big explosions but at the very least they should feel better than a passive ability. For example, I listed all those champions who have pretty lack luster ultimate abilities in terms of "no big explosion" but, those abilities still have a lot more depth in them than Quinn's ultimate.

I've mained Quinn since season 3 and I have ~180 games on Quinn since her rework.

Quinn has been one of my main champs since Season 3 also and I have 1706 games of Quinn since her rework in ranked. Also I'm Diamond.

Also in comparison to other ultimate abilities, there's barely any depth.

Movespeed is an incredibly deep mechanic which allows you to a huge amount of things.

As the entire premise of your argument is wrong on that alone there really isn't a whole lot else to say here. Just because it isn't a burst of movement like Taliyah doesn't mean "it just makes you go fast". Yes, that's what it does.

But you need to think what you can do with such a huge amount of speed.

That's literally all it does. Skystrike does barely nothing now because it's only a 0.4 Tad ratio with no base damage. You also get to keep it up as long as you're out of combat so it's basically mobility boots and you don't have to think about "when" to use it, you just use it. That's power without gameplay.

Again, that's just false. The gameplay is in what you do with the movespeed. By your logic any ability is just "power without gameplay". Ahri's Q "is just damage and makes you go fast".

Yeah, and what do you do with it?

Same goes for anything. It's just a spin you're putting on it and just shows you don't know what movespeed is used for in LoL, you act like it is nothing and this isn't a unique ability.

When it is completely unique, very useful and very fun. Other champs lag behind and don't get to fights or don't get good positioning before fights. Quinn does not have this issue. No other champ lets you do this. Full stop.

because that's just how lacking the ability feels (most Quinn players want her reverted/reworked again).

Source please (hint, there is none because no they don't. A few old Quinn players want it and that's it).

(go to r/Quinnmains)

lol.

Yeah Quinn can flank and stuff but so can every single other champion because her ultimate is just movement speed.

No they can't. That's just completely wrong. Quinn can go right around a team at 750 movespeed whereas any other champ would leave their team to die and not even be around the back by the time everyone was dead.

You don't like the ability and don't know how to use it, but that doesn't make the ability useless and / or bad.

So it's basically a passive ability but still has more depth than Quinn's ultimate and feels so fucking fun to use.

I find Kha'Zix's jump underwhelming as hell since his many reworks and his ult movespeed is barely existent.

Yeah moving around the map is unique to Quinn but there is little depth to the ability and it feels awful for an "ultimate" ability.

In your opinion. In my opinion it is one of the best abilities in the game.

those abilities still have a lot more depth in them than Quinn's ultimate.

Going back to this, no they don't. None of those abilities with the exception of Panth slightly let you do what Quinn can do. TF can to an extent but you will be blown up.

It is powerful but it just doesn't match up to her old ultimate that could do so much more.

"Match up"? That doesn't really mean anything, and of course it doesn't, the old one was useless and nowhere near as fun. Nothing is less fun than ulting to gank someone only for them to go back and have your ult wasted and on CD with you stuck in the middle of nowhere.

The new ult is 10000x more satisfying and useful.

You just don't like Quinn simply, you say you've mained her since S3 but you've barely even played the rework. I have nearly 10x the games you do of the rework.

KoKoboto3 votes

The only reason I mentioned my experience on Quinn is because you seem to believe that I only dislike the ultimate because I dislike the ultimate. Constantly arguing against what YOU believe to be my character rather than the actual champion with lines like "YOU don't like Quinn", "YOU don't know how to use the ability","YOUR opinion". YOU need to stop focusing on me and focus on Quinn. ~180 games is roughly 5400 hours worth of game play. It's not an opinion it's a fact that there's little depth to the ultimate and I've had more than enough experience to say this.

Now, it would be an opinion if I only played 3 games of Quinn and said "wow I think it's cool she can go around the whole map" but I have experience on Quinn. I KNOW what she can do with her ultimate, it's tremendously easier to understand than her old ultimate. A lot of people think her old ultimate was trash because they didn't know how to use it properly and only thought "wow I'm range and now I go melee? that sucks this champion sucks", but the learning curve was just that much higher in comparison to other abilities. New Quinn ultimate is just movement speed so it's really easy to use and get the most out of.

Movement speed isn't a deep mechanic, it's an important mechanic that often goes unnoticed but it isn't deep by any means. Movement speed is just how fast your champion moves and enables you to do things. There's a lot of hidden power behind it but it's very straight forward. However movement speed has arguably decreased in value because of the amount of dashes in the game, which I'll relate to how flanks work later. Regardless YOU'RE right in how you see the value of movement speed but YOU'RE wrong in how you believe it's a deep mechanic (See what I did there, using second person tense? That's not how YOU argue, that's how YOU attack people. YOU'LL notice the only time I use second tense is to talk about what a champion does, just cause im lazy).

That power without gameplay point I brought up isn't mine, it's Riot's. There is a significant difference between damage and not having damage and there is gameplay behind Ahri's Q that is entrenched in a lot of Rito's philosophy. The only instance of Ahri's Q that lacks gameplay is when you spam it to move around the map faster, this instance is pretty rare though considering you need to have the ability up if a fight may happen. Ahri's Q reflects Riot by a huge amount because we see it being used in champions TODAY with the "boomerang".

First off it's a skill shot, meaning you (me being lazy with tense) as a player have to try and aim at a target that could be going anywhere. Just by firing the ability you must consider the cast time, damage, and how to combo it effectively. The boomerang part creates more gameplay because you then have to position to try and get it to come back though the enemy for the true damage. You have to go through another series of damage and positioning in order to get the most out of the ability because now you make your positioning more obvious. There is also the case of trying to land a max range Q so that you don't have to consider the return of the skill shot and get the damage off much faster, a skill ceiling for Ahri players. So my logic, when applied to Ahri, shows that the ability does have depth, it's not just "damage and movement speed. Ahri Draven Ekko Graves Lux Talon

I'm not arguing if it's unique, or if it's fun, or if it's strong. I said that in my reply. I am arguing about the depth of the ability, how it doesn't feel like an ultimate, and how it lacks game play. There are no situations where you don't want to use Quinn's ultimate, what the gameplay there? Imagine if you were playing basketball and you could get the ball in every time, there is no game play. Now imagine Quinn roaming and you could be anywhere you want whenever you want because the ultimate has no cooldown and there's literally nothing stopping you from going where ever you want, there is no game play. Just because you can go everywhere, doesn't mean there is game play.

If you find Kha'Zix's leap underwhelming than sure. However the ability has more depth than Quinn's. Also I didn't talk about Kha'Zix R active, I talked about the passive.

No they can't. That's just completely wrong. Quinn can go right around a team at 750 movespeed whereas any other champ would leave their team to die and not even be around the back by the time everyone was dead.

Quinn can go right around a team at 750 movement speed. Talon, Kha'Zix, Rengar, Fizz, LeBlanc, Akali, Galio, Shen, Corki, Twsited Fate, etc can as well. Albeit with way more gameplay because they thought about their ability usage, timed it, and hopefully managed to do whatever they wanted to do. Quinn can do a lot of stuff with her ultimate that other champions cannot, doesn't mean the ability has depth to it. In fact, you admitting that the ability has few limitations supports my statement that there is little game play behind it. You always want to use Quinn's ultimate and using the ultimate is straight forward because it is just movement speed.

I'm gonna ignore your opinions on old Quinn ultimate because those are opinions and I'm trying to take you seriously.

~180 games is roughly 5400 hours worth of game play.

So every League game is 30 hours long? Lol

because you seem to believe that I only dislike the ultimate because I dislike the ultimate

I'm going by the argument you're presenting, I can't help that. Only you can help that.

I KNOW what she can do with her ultimate

Yet you keep asking me what positioning is and claiming other champs with half her movespeed or short bursts of movespeed can do the same thing.

A lot of people think her old ultimate was trash because they didn't know how to use it properly and only thought "wow I'm range and now I go melee? that sucks this champion sucks", but the learning curve was just that much higher in comparison to other abilities.

Old Quinn ult was cheese. Fly in, die or win.

New Quinn ultimate is just movement speed so it's really easy to use and get the most out of.

New Quinn ult is the complete opposite, because roaming around the map separates the bronze from the diamond. "Just movement speed" does not equal easy to use and get the most out of it.

This is why I keep saying you don't know how to use it. If you believe movespeed speed is a simple mechanic that anyone can take advantage of you are clearly not utilising the ult correctly.

Movement speed isn't a deep mechanic

The mechanic itself isn't, what you can do with it is.

Movement speed is just how fast your champion moves and enables you to do things

Exactly, enables you to do things.

here's a lot of hidden power behind it but it's very straight forward. However movement speed has arguably decreased in value because of the amount of dashes in the game,

Dashes =/= movement speed

how it doesn't feel like an ultimate, and how it lacks game play. There are no situations where you don't want to use Quinn's ultimate, what the gameplay there?

And this is false, again. Zzz. You don't have endless mana and it only becomes free at lvl 16.

And the same goes for every ability, again. Who saves Ahri's Q? Saving Q for late game?

It is a passive ability that has tremendous use in her gameplay. It does feel like an ultimate because it gives you so much movement speed and lets you do things no one else can.

As I've said before, not every ability has to be flashy.

Now imagine Quinn roaming and you could be anywhere you want whenever you want because the ultimate has no cooldown and there's literally nothing stopping you from going where ever you want, there is no game play. Just because you can go everywhere, doesn't mean there is game play.

Lol. Mana cost. Enemy pushing the lane. Ability to gank if the lanes are pushed.

Going around the enemy. Going to places the enemy didn't expect. Backdooring.

There is gameplay. You are pretending there is none.

I'm gonna ignore your opinions on old Quinn ultimate because those are opinions and I'm trying to take you seriously.

Quinn can go right around a team at 750 movement speed. Talon, Kha'Zix, Rengar, Fizz, LeBlanc, Akali, Galio, Shen, Corki, Twsited Fate, etc can as well.

No they can't, that is objectively false. None of those champions listed can do even vaguely similar to what Quinn can do.

There is no point arguing a point when you are obviously flat out lying, none of those champs have this level of sustained mobility and most of them don't even have this level of burst mobility, and some can't even choose where to go, only go to specific locations.

Albeit with way more gameplay because they thought about their ability usage, timed it, and hopefully managed to do whatever they wanted to do.

They also have way less movement speed and their abilities trade that for damage and other things. It is not even remotely the same ability.

Quinn can do a lot of stuff with her ultimate that other champions cannot, doesn't mean the ability has depth to it

Doesn't mean it doesn't either.

In fact, you admitting that the ability has few limitations supports my statement that there is little game play behind it.

No it does not and I didn't even do that, you've taken whatever I said out of context. Lack of limitations =/= gameplay, if anything that implies it has more gameplay use.

ou always want to use Quinn's ultimate and using the ultimate is straight forward because it is just movement speed.

Movement speed is not straight forwards.

I'm gonna ignore your opinions on old Quinn ultimate because those are opinions and I'm trying to take you seriously.

In that case I will ignore yours for saying every League game is 30 hours long and Fizz has 750 movement speed.

KoKoboto1 votes

Cut me some slack. I typed that up when I got home from clubbing at like 12 (yeah yeah yeah...). My math wasn't working.

New Quinn ult is cheese. Fly in with lethality build and one shot the carry, or die.

Quinn can't maneuver throughout a team fight because her ultimate is only out of combat. You can go back to channel I guess but spending 2s (and more just getting back into the fight) channeling is leaving your team alone for a 4v5.

Limitations is part of game play, if your champion has nothing to stop them from doing what they want to do there's no game play. Unless you cancel your ult every 5 seconds you leave it on there is no mana cost issue. By level 11, 50 mana is literally nothing for an ultimate ability. That's a straw man.

Yeah being able to move around the map separates ELOs but for Quinn the same game knowledge doesn't apply because she has nothing stopping her from being wherever she wants to be. That's one of the reasons Quinn has maintained a +51% winrate across ALL ELOs, it's because her ultimate is straight forward to use. Her winrate only dropped when lethality was nerfed but has managed to go back up again after the buffs. So the skill argument gets kicked out the window, but that's not the point. The point is that the ability has little depth.

I never said dashes are the same as movement speed. It's just that the importance of movement speed has lowered due to the abundance of dashes, also the abundance of CC. Any champion can be fast as fuck boy but that doesn't matter if you get slowed or CC'd, because it completely stomps out movement speed. I'm sure you've seen people on boards talking about it. However this isn't the point.

League of legends is a game right? The competition is between you and the enemy players, if no enemy players existed you would always win. You have to use your abilities accordingly to beat your enemy, the enemy needs to have a way to work around your ability so that they have a fair chance of play. How does the enemy play around Quinn's ultimate?

Octavia2 votes

How does the enemy play around Quinn's ultimate?

Wards, a frontline which is paying attention and ready for Quinn, shutting her down early by playing safe and not letting her snowball, snowballing yourself, just building armor, playing a champ which outscales her...

KoKoboto3 votes

That's not counter play.

Counter play is adapting or changing your strategy when facing a different specific strategies.

"Warding", applies to everyone. "A frontline", in other words counter picking, in other words not counter play. "Not letting her snowball", applies to everyone. "Building armor", applies to everyone. "Playing a champ which outscales her", in other words counter picking, in other words not counter play.

By your responses, the counter play to Quinn's ULTIMATE is the same as playing against any CHAMPION in league of legends. If the counter play to Quinn is the same as counter play to every other champion in the game than the ability lacks depth.

Octavia1 votes

Yes it is. Different champs react differently to things. Can't ward an Eve. Can't ward a Hecarim.

But you can make a team comp around a Quinn.

You can shut down a Nasus

You can build armor on tanks instead of stacking damage to counter Assassins

Counterpicking is a form of counterplay.

All this is a form of counterplay.

By your responses, the counter play to Quinn's ULTIMATE is the same as playing against any CHAMPION in league of legends.

I am giving you ways to completely shut it down, the same can be said for any ability in the game if you really want to mitigate all impact it may have.

It is a powerful ability yes, and these are the tools you can use to stop it.

The ultimate in itself is no good without the rest of the kit, so this is how to stop Quinn. Not just how to stop her ult.

And there are many methods of counterplay in terms of gameplay not mentioned here, this is the tip of the iceberg and your attempts to spin it aren't gonna change that :)

KoKoboto1 votes

You ward out Evelynn by warding her camps. That's an extremely niche situation. Evelynn is getting a rework. However warding in general is a weak argument for counter play. It's why the interaction between stealth and pink wards was removed.

Where did I say that I didn't know what positioning is? Where were my arguments not true?

Since you edited in all that stuff I'll just put it here.

You can ward out Hecarim as you would any champion. Hecarim is a really binary champion though so I don't know why you would use him in your argument.

Counter picking isn't the same as counter play. Winning in champion select isn't the same as counter play. The game play between the champions is what falls under counter play, not just what was picked.

But you can make a team comp around a Quinn.

You can shut down a Nasus

You can build armor on tanks instead of stacking damage to counter Assassins

Thanks for giving examples. Though that doesn't change the fact that they apply to every single champion in the game. Thus the ability lacks depth.

I'm not talking about her kit, I'm talking about her ultimate alone. Which means the "build resistances" against it means little cause the ultimate barely does damage.

So once again, the ability lacks depth.

It's not worth arguing with this dude, promise. The bulk of his claims revolve around the assumption that Quinn's gameplay is perfect and that any issues you might have with her as a champion are due to a deficit in your own play. He does not care about whether Quinn is a fair, resonant, or satisfying champion, nor how much potential she has both in regards to her gameplay and theme. Don't waste your time and energy.

To be honest. Every argument supporting Quinn's current ultimate is worth arguing about because it gives me more insight on just how lame her current ultimate is. Ya know. Every voice is worth listening to, at least a bit. Wish Riot would use that kinda philosophy. item 3070

gameplay and theme thrown around so much it's become comical, just meaningless. Gameplay comes first, you can fit a crap story nobody cares about in later, at the end of the day it doesn't matter, never mattered and never will matter. Champs could be a blank square for all it mattered, would make no difference to me or the game.

And as for her current gameplay, it's strong and one of the most unique champs in the game. She is strong early but is easily shut down if you don't outplay the enemy. Annoying like Teemo and other ranged champs on top, but balanced out by what I previously mentioned.

Quinn's ultimate is good, it's her identity.

The problem is, after the big nerf, her waveclear is non-existant now, which means she is useless unless insanely ahead. She loses 1v1s at equal gold, which is fine, or she'd be too oppressive with her speed. But without waveclear she can't do much. Pre-waveclear I enjoyed playing her in different positions, if behind split pushing was always an option. Now I only use her as top-lane bully when autofilled top -- I with they nerfed that a bit and gave her back some waveclear to make her more generally useful, beyond just frustrating her melee opponent to no end (which she does well still, but it's less enjoyable than the style I used to play).

I'm not denying that her ultimate is good. It's too weak in terms of depth to define her.

It has more depth than most ultimates and absolutely defines Quinn's role as there is literally no champion in the game who comes close to matching her raw speed across the map. You are completely misusing the word 'depth'.

What you're looking for is 'flashy'. Quinn's ult is not 'flashy' because it doesn't have a sudden recognizable impact on a teamfight. It's not like the 30 ultimates in the game that are AoE cc abilities that you just use when a bunch of enemies are clumped up, it's not like the 50 ultimates in the game that are bursts of AoE damage that you use when a bunch of enemies are clumped up, it's not like the 20 long range gapclosers with single target damage and/or cc that you use when a key target is out of position. It is instead the only ult in the game that lets you effortlessly swap between farming a lane, ganking a lane, flanking a fight, showing up to baron/dragon, or pressuring a tower with virtually no cost of any kind. Completely unique, completely defining, multiplies your options by a magnitude of 10, but not flashy.

Things should not be effortless. Her roaming is the least inspired out of all roaming type champions. Not worry of an ultimate ability. Her ultimate is just movement speed so there's not much depth to it.

She is best in the Jungle. Lane Quinn is fine but a waste of time, Jungle is just better.
