All the crying about the preseason and why it should stop.

Okay i can see everyone crying their eyes out "omg rito this", "omg rito that" and "omg i quit lol". First of all - thank you for quitting this game, finally less kids around. Now, do you actually understand why do we call this period "preseason" ? Allow me to explain - it's the time of the year that bugger all is happening so Riot can have some more or less drastic changes TESTED OUT. You can use the argument that they can carry out those changes periodically, over the course of many patches but it'd make the game unplayable for a longer period of time, since in many cases the changes would have to ba adjusted after going live to be tested by the whole community. The fact that they have limited time to do this does not help either. "but PBE is for testing changes hurr durr" Yea it is, the PBE does help to test new things and find bugs, yet it's significantly smaller than live servers and the matchmaking is not so strict so not everything pops out and sometimes things that are found OP or UP on PBE end up being fine on live servers. For the cases that PBE is right and something ends up crazy strong we have hotfixes, we'll have one this week for Graves and the Warlord's Bloodlust mastery. When it comes to items I also find some issues but as I said before - it's still the beginning of the preseason, and i'd like to note that the AD on most of the items has been nerfed (and may be nerfed/adjusted) again in the future. Now regarding the hot topic of mana potions i can say one thing - wtf people? Only thing that i can see is salt. Literary. No one probably even bothered to look at the increases in the mana pools of many champions, and even fewer people noticed the cost decrease to item 1004 . Now you can buy 2 of those, 5 item 2010 or item 2003 and you're gonna be fine. There are also runes that can help you with mana problems. And if you dont want to use those things or can actually be bothered to manadge their mana good old item 1056 and new item 1082 are available so you can choose your starting items instead of going doran's every damn game. What people do instead of finding a way to adjust and innovate? Complain. Because it's the easiest way to do, not thinking - crying. I do not say that this time of year is perfect or anything, far from it (although it is close to christmas so we've got that going for us) but I can see too many people rush to conclusions without thinking and I think that it's wrong to judge before anything actually happened.

TL;DR/Conclusion Do not judge the preseason before it's over and look at the means of adjusting that riot has given you, innovate.

Thing is Rioters remain unbearably silent about it. It wouldn't be hard to calm down people on the forums by just having a red say : " We are aware that games are too snowbally atm, towers are too weak and are working on solutions for next patches." I'm pretty sure this would be upvoted the hell out and bring back some confidence in Riot. But for some reason, reds remain silent or answer on topics unrelated to the main complaints.

Personally the big issue is that unlike Season 5s preseason they dumped all the changes on us at once, now this is bad in serveral ways

  • Riot will spend a longer time trying to balance it all In the past Riot added the big changes in phases (See Season 5 Jungle changes) which meant between each new big change they had time to see how the champions fared and let them buff/nerf accordingly before the next change and repeat, here they'll be all "Well ok these are strong so lets nerf them oh wait but now this is doing bad so we gotta buff this and thats cause that to be useless and changing that means players ignore this item but buffing that means this item is..." they essentially swamped themselves and will almost certainly turn the preseason into a jumbled mess as they keep causin chain reaction after chain reaction of problems

  • They focused on one area and NOTHING ELSE Tanks are dead, AP mages extinct and its all about ADCs, Assassins and Sorakas (And occasionally Nami) which is great for people who main them (I'm kinda happy cause i can go back to my old mains of Sona/Nami but sad because my current main Bard is now really weak) but if your anything else? your useless, Tanks get shredded because the game is flooded in crits, self heals are dead because of executionors calling, AP mages have had item nerfs and their pots removed, when they changed the supports or the Jungle they made sure that other lanes and roles were still healthy (Remember when we had more variety mid at the start of Season 5 outside of Yasuo/Viktor? (For those that don't we had Kayle, Nid, Gragas, Ziggs, Xerath, Zed, Cass, Urgot, Azir when he came out before it just became Viktor Veigar Yas) in a phased release they could of seen how these other classes faired and give them buffs for the next phase and so on

  • They didn't seem to test any of it Meddler openly said that they were sure Yasuo and Tryn would become a problem with the crit mastrey, instead of makes changes they pushed it to live and went "meh" and lo and behold Yas and Tryn everywhere, this is just a pure lack of common sense on Riots part and shows that honestly they put stuff that they thought was cool but clearly didn't pay any heed to common sense or balence in both their in-house testing AND the PBE (Though they rarely pay attention to feedback in the PBE) this could be because they had to get the entire thing ready for ONE patch instead of making some changes, giving them a good run down in testing, give it the balence and then release, go to the next section, repeat

I honestly don't see the big deal about mana, the only people I expect to see having issues are the Galio and Zyra mains.

I'm a paying customer, sorry. I'm also an adult with constraints on my time so it isn't my job to adapt to a game that's no longer fun for me. It IS Riot's job to playtest things, behave professionally and have professionalism in their products. I've found extremely unprofessional things like the Match History records still having masteries labled "masteries_ferocity_tree" and Janna's recommended items being mis-spelled as "agressive items". This is unacceptable.

Hi, I'm 31 years old. I think this game is taking a wrong turn and moving away from the things people currently love about it. Assuming people are kids when they complain about a game they are passionate about, really just makes you look like the child.

I most definitely would stop playing this game if this game moved away from the teamwork meta. There are no comebacks anymore, junglers are forced to camp bot lane and have a much harder time clearing, games are decided mostly by 10-15 minutes and are one way stomps, seems like only ADCs, and melee carries (yasuo, trynd, riven, etc) effect the outcome anymore, towers fall in seconds. This is a bad move considering S5 was by far the most balanced the game has ever been.

People are entitled to their opinion, like you are to yours. Don't be so immature and call someone out for caring about a game they love.
