old malzahar was more fun to play AND had more counterplay.

why was he changed again? he needed a small shift of power from ult to passive and that was it.

and how is that a problem? also it wasn't 0.5% . thats horseshit. he had 1.5-2.5% playrate which is respectable. there are 130 champions in league. and a bunch of them have 20-50% playrate. what?

I have been playing since S2 and Prior to the change I can say without a doubt that there were fewer than 20 i ever saw. He needed the change to make him actually viable. Lets not forget that his kit was one of the most clunky fucking things ever made. The voidlings were on a every # of casts. and His Ult didnt do shit unless you managed to get the pool down first. The Ult change was AMAZING. It made the whole Place the pool then ult not a problem. It pools when you ult and that cleared up an ability so they threw the voidlings on it. This freed up his passive to be the passive it is today.

TLDR: His old passive was trash. Putting them on an ability was the best change for malz. Also His Ult change Fixed a lot of the clunkyness of malz

Would agree, I don't play malz but when looking at them hardly anything seems to have changed, hes just got a new shield?

He probably just needs some numbers tweaks if he is weak?

An improvement in the numbers would help. A key aspect of Malzahar is that he needs the voidlings to tank jungle monsters. And the nerf essentially destroyed that. I can no longer play Jungle Malzahar and be a value to my team.

I would like to see the voidlings return to their old hitpoint system and bring back voidling frenzy because they are simply too slow to engage the champions in this time where all the champs are hypermobile.

They also nerfed his mobility and Auto Attack range so it is among the worst of ranged champs.

Malzahar is required (like Xerath) to stand still during his ultimate, and that makes him vulnerable esp. in team fights. And since Malzahar has no QWE CC and no escapes, he has to hug turret more than most champs.

Malzahar's Ult does suppress, but once the enemy purchases QSS, that allows them to turret dive, And since he has no other CC, it is game over. (QSS also removes the damage of the channeling portion of the ult, which is a a huge portion of the damage of Malz's ult)

You won't see the QSS in a lot of low ELO games but at the higher ELO / more experienced players.. they know this and use it.
