Downvoted because I'm totally fine with someone losing a promo series that they made so many mistakes in that it came down to a lucky crit.

Crits are insanely healthy for the game at all levels. You need a little RNG in this things to keep stuff fresh and exciting. It's one of the most common mechanics in RPGs. Knowing exactly how everything will turn out gets stale - I'm playing a video game, not chess.
