At first sight he looks like he has a nice kit, the perfect fighter, but I've heard several times he's been overnerfed, he's not good anymore or is simply outclassed by Irelia. Can I have an insightful comment on this by Jax players?
Aaravos2 votesHis laning phase and teamfight is not the best, but he is a powerful duelist in mid-late game, and can snowball if he somehow winning the lane. He is an excellent champion for split pushing but there are some better top laners atm than Jax.
Myrddin1 voteshe's fine, his early game was nerfed, so he's not a lane bully anymore. After 5-6 if farmed properly you smash your lane opponent.

MLDzXnRRR1 votesIrelia is better toplaner atm. If you are looking for a new jungler, Jax is better than her, his early ganks are not bad and can duel anyone in the jungle. He can beat her top, but no Irelia will fight to the death. Irelia's play pattern is to chunk the opponent hp bar with her abilities and sustain with her heal and flask. Jax doesn't have such burst and is all about sustained fights. His mana costs are higher and abilites deal less dmg, unless you go Ap. Irelia gets just Triforce and kills everyone, then builds full tank. Irelia can play vs ranged like Lulu, Gnar and company, Jax will probably feed or get zoned really hard.
HeraldOfDemacia1 votesThe real problem is that this has become League of Tanks lately and Jax struggles when he can't simply jump onto the adc and stunlock them. Tanks have a way of keeping people off of their back line (or they should) which murders Jax's playstyle.
