Dragons feel so rewarding right now.

Even the one stack Cloud Dragon buff. I love them. I only wish we could hunt more of them before the big bad spawns. I'd be happy with weaker buffs and more dragons if need be.

Infernal dragon just feels over powered. 8% increase? Once you get this the games virtually over. Game usually starts you with Earthen, so if you get this one you have a chance if you manage to be able to do baron buff... Its just so wanky.

8% is not noticeably stronger than 6%.

2 ad or AP difference per 100 bonus ad / AP. Not that huge. Only huge if you have Rabadons.

Just feels like a "win more" objective atm. With the old dragon, if you were behind you didn't mind giving up 1-2 dragons while your team tried to catch up in farm. Now, it feels like you have to fight over the dragon because if the winning team gets any of the buffs, it just becomes impossible to manage as the other team. Just adds another snowbally feature to take a few minutes off a game. Not lilkin' it at all

It's not win more, it's just actually valuable. And forcing contests over every dragon was the objective, to help team fight oriented champions get real use out of their kits.

Doesn't "win more" objective describe all objectives? Towers give you gold and less vision for your enemies. Colored buffs basically give you free items as long as you control them. Baron makes your minion waves far harder to clear and make them damage towers far more.

Like, League is a game based around taking objectives. You literally have to take an objective to win the game, but first you have to take several other objectives because they prevent you from taking the game-winning objective. If you take an objective, you're getting closer to victory. If an objective does anything more than that, by it's very nature it's "win more" because you're already winning more by taking it, but now you take the remaining objectives even easier.

If dragon wasn't a "win more" objective, it would be literally pointless because you'd take damage and expend resources for no reward. The only way that would work is if you couldn't damage the Nexus without killing at least one dragon, making dragon a necessary objective without giving it a reward, but that sounds flat-out terrible.

I found out that you can get the same dragon more than once. we got the earth dragon twice. we lost. fml.

TallyZrg3 votes

The dragon buffs can stack up to 3 times, and then whatever value you have will get a 50% boost if you get elder dragon.

The buffs can get outrageous fast depending on which dragons you managed to kill.

MunchCrunchLunch1 votes

i dont like that idea.there should be just 1 of each.

TallyZrg5 votes

only 3 kinds of dragons can spawn in a given match. Read up on the Dragon changes for context on why one of each wont work, and why they went with random dragon spawns each game.

I got the earth dragon 3 times in a row.. Myself (xin) and my sona duoed baron at 23 mins.

Hyperiön1 votes

Pfft, I solo'd baron as soon as it came up with Malzahar and earth Dragon xD

Yet people keep saying only Red and Blue dragon matters.

People seem to not understand that if you kill the ancient dragon all your buffs get doubled for the duration.

Yea, but that triple inferno though... Might as well /ff if the enemy team manages to snag 3 of them. Lost a game cause of that...

Serika Zero1 votes

you can always like....... kill the enemy team. it buffs up their damage, but if you kill them before they can attack you, you win >.>

and that's valid for all buffs, that's why they are so useless (exception if the enemy plays point and click heroes)

I died twice in a row for the same dragon lol. Jungler wouldn't stop attacking it even as the enemies were attacking us so we died. I came back up to get the dragon (got it!) but died. Still worth it. Every dragon is now a 5v5 teamfight and I love it.

The only suck thing is that junglers are even more important now, and they already sort of decided games compared to the other roles. Now a bad jungler = a lost game even more than before.

tooomine1 votes

farm junglers = lost games, really.

but I know what you mean.

Yesterday played with an Udyr who just didn't quite have the map awareness needed for this patch. A few times I had to say in chat "Udyr, drag soon, please be near it." Gonna be a bit of growing pains, but people will slowly figure things out.

I managed to flash in and steal a Cloud Dragon yesterday as Brand support. The 15 MS I gained after I respawned was amazing.

McKeifus1 votes

I also love the Dragon Buffs, but they seem to brutally favor a team that is already winning.

Hyperiön3 votes

That just makes it ever so more important to take advantage of as soon as you make a play bot lane. Secure the dragon, instead of taking the turret now.

Truth without Ghost Wolf as Jax my sole focus has been getting those first two dragons and getting top lane Herald.

tooomine3 votes

they can just as easily favor a team that is behind, too. but lets be real, the problem with teams is that now, objective control is the most important thing in teh game. Going fiddle jung with enemy malz and zil supp vs. tanky supports isn't gonna cut it.

I hate to say it, but you can straight up lose this game in champ select, now.

McKeifus1 votes

It's much easier to get objectives when you're ahead. Granted, I had a game where we were behind by about 20 kills and the other team was actually just terrible and had one player that was good at dueling but 0 objective awareness. So they were ahead in kills but had no organization or teamfight capability. We got 5 dragon buffs and Baron and rolled them. Most of the time that won't be the case.

thumbnail91 votes

Well naturally you can straight win the game off of two of them.

runedara1 votes

My only problem is earth and wind aren't very good when your behind.
