Hey Meddler, any word on why Lissandra doesn't have the same Mana Stats as other mages?

Hey Meddler, In a post a few weeks ago you said you would look into why Lissandra doesn't have the same mana stats as other mages. I noticed that she didn't receive any changes in the 4.21 Patch and was just wondering if there is any follow up or context to her not getting the changes. Thanks and have a good day!

PS: Any new ideas about her passive?

Deliberate choice on the balance team's part to keep her at lower regen rates than other mages as per before the stat rebalancing.

Still thinking on passive, part of the challenge there is finding something more satisfying that isn't more satisfying simply because it's far more powerful. Particularly with the amount of play Lissandra's been seeing recently in OGN and at IEM San Jose adding power seems risky given the current state of the game, at least in competitive play.

Wasn't the idea originally floated removing the mana passive and replacing it with an ice shield? You could probably come up with something a little more thematic and appropriate to her dive-in style at a comparable level now that mana sustain comes at a higher premium.

Though maybe that´s the time to admit that with all the mobility around point&click CC has become almost necessary for teams to make sure they can ever catch anything - which is most of Lissandras current power (same for Mao actually).

I question that, as Lissandra's Ice Shard (Q) is really costly in the early game. Couldn't it cost a little less at early ranks?

Whatever it is you design, just make sure it's not another mana passive.

Considering she's an all-in sustained DPS ice-mage. I feel the most fitting would be a Morde-esque passive that reflects the fact that she's basically living ice herself.

You could try something like Lux passive or Orianna ones: if Lissandra AA a slowed champion, it deals X bonus magic damage [OPTIONAL: It can't occur more than X seconds]. It would stimulate Lissandra's player to trade AA instead of just harassing with Q.

How about totally removing the slow from her Q and Ult and putting all her slows into her passive.

For example, her passive can apply a stacking mark which lasts for 5 seconds and causes the enemy to be slowed for 5% for 1.5 seconds for each mark on the enemy. There can be a maximum of 10 marks on a single target.

Q applies 1 mark. W applies 3 marks. E applies 2 marks. R applies 5 marks and can "over cap" above 10 marks, up to a grand total of 15.

This fits in with her identity as an ice mage that uses her kit to control the flow of team fights and outmaneuver her opponents rather than someone who just bursts people down. A free spell cast passive is optimally utilized when you don't spec into mana at all, and naturally that means spending all your gold on AP as a glass cannon, since buying CDR won't be practical without high amounts of mana to begin with.

The "ramping threat" paradigm fits in more with her identity imho.

Has a passive like a slow freeze over spell casts on the same target been looked at?
