The new support items make every support feel like you're playing soraka
Sorakas cool and all, I do like playing her occasionally just because of how damn obnoxious she is as a champion that can actually make support kind of fun sometimes, but god damn these support items are op.
Why make the items for support op? Why not just make their gold gen higher so they have the FREEDOM to build what ever they want? I know when the gold gen was strong other people were taking it but why not just rework them to only work in duo lanes? Bam you can make gold gen strong and no one but support (and MAYBE adc) will abuse it. Supports itemization was in an ok spot beforehand imo, they simply needed more gold. I know when targons first came out people didn't hardly jungle and just duo laned top with it but that was really only because jungle was so damn weak back then. With jungle as strong as it is currently I really don't think this strategy would rise up again if we buffed duo lane gold gen.
Another problem with such OP support items is that their build paths are more stale now than they've ever been. There's about as much choice in support as there is in adc itemization right now. If you want to support you go sightstone > boots > redemption > locket > then the other last 2 items are a little more negotiable, although on champ gg anyone with a shield in the support role always has ardent censor and knights vow as their last 2 items. Then you pair that with exhaust and wind speakers and it honestly just feels unfair, and I've played both sides of it, as the guy diving an adc with a support with this shit and as the support myself laughing my ass off at how ridiculously broken the shit was, as a zed tried over and over to kill my adc. Even the support tanks take the redemption locket combo, the only difference is they throw face of the mountain in there as well.
from: someone who plays nothing but divers, but also plays support quite a bit because they have to play at least 1/4th of their games as support. Shits broken yo.

Guess I was just not paying attention.
