The new jungle is dissapointing

First off let me start by saying this thread has nothing to do with the plants, although while I'm on that topic I think that plants aren't really all that meaningful in game. Some cool things can happen with them and some bullshit too, but overall I didn't think plants really effected anything all that much to be that noticeable. So overall the plants are fine I guess and I wouldn't care if they stayed or went because they simply aren't all that relevant.

But what is relevant though, is the overly long spawn timers on the regular jungle mobs. This and the fact that a full clear no longer means taking every single camp completely shafts farming junglers, while only benefitting ganking junglers in all the best ways.

Many champions simply don't bother taking the chickens on the first clear now because the chickens completely fuck up every single champion that isn't a full aoe clearer.

I was playing yi on the top side of the map. My clear went blue - gromp - wolves - red - golems. I then proceeded to gank top and got a kill shoved the top wave in with my laner and went back. By the time I got back to gromp I had to wait roughly 15-20 seconds before the gromp spawned again. And this was with a gank too, most of the time you simply want to back after your full clear but if you do that you are boned for sure. Now yes you can go take the crabs but those are very risky as the chances of being interrupted by a ganking jungler (who is much strong than you that early) is quite high. And it also depends on which laners are pushing in because if the lanes pushed in they can't come help while the person who did push it in is free to help.

It feels like being efficient as a jungler isn't a meaningful expression of skill in this jungle like it was in the last season's jungle. Efficiency has always been something I have been very good at as a jungler, but in this jungle there's nothing to do but gank. What's the point of shaving time off my clear when that time will just be spent able to do nothing? It was good last season because there was actually a trade off to ganking vs farming. Your camps would actually be up and this put a certain weight on gankers to get something out of the ganks or else they might fall behind. Now it seems like if you play the right champions you can simply do both and suffer nothing for it. You can have your cake and eat it too. Gank a lot while hardly falling behind even if the ganks don't work out.

This new jungle takes less thought to maneuver and only gives players one viable clear and they even FORCE you to do a gank or invade the enemy jungle because if you don't you will waste time at the next camp when you recall.

What are your guys' thoughts on the new jungle disregarding the plants?

Sincerely, a D4 jungle main.

I main shyvana and am D5 so I see your opinion as a farming jungler however I personally think this change is good. As a jungler you should be actively trying to fight for scuttle crabs and ganks, even as a farming jungle. Take some time out of your route to check on the enemy jungle or take more creative routes for ganks. The monsters granting more EXP means you have the free time to do that. Concerning the plant change, they DO make a difference. If you can actively make use of the plants they change the game so much. And they are RNG based but SKILL is indeed involved with planning as you need vision to know where what is. The vision plant helps plan out plays and clear vision, Health plant can help your top or mid greatly if they shove and blast plants make invading and escape possible for immobile champions. The DEPTH of jungling as a teamplayer has gone up. I dislike the removal of smite buffs but in all honesty, past mid game it was either raptors for vision/denial or wolves for protection.
