AP Ez. Back to Unviable Next Patch - Where is the compensation?

Runeglaive won't proc. spell effects anymore (RIP Luden's Q). It's not as if he's even dominant now. His winrate even in Diamond is only 47% and it's around there everywhere. It's a fun and viable off-build with a weak early, high damage late but little else.

Riot always seems to nerf unintended fun things and off-builds. Before Runeglaive, AP Ez. scored horribly even among the few dedicated players that used him. I hope Riot can balance both styles in a way that I'm not called a troll picking AP Ez. mid in ranked.

Unless I'm mistaken, the only thing changing here is that his Q won't proc Ludens. AFAIK, Luden's was just the icing on the cake, the real reason people took runeglaive is because it fixed most of the problems EZ had, it gave him decent waveclear and helped his early game mana issues somewhat, and since it converts all the damage to magic it makes void staff a better buy.

No, the spell effects part was huge and Luden's was a big factor since it let him spike much faster. He could also charge Luden's very quickly with Q and got much better waveclear without having to go for some risky E Luden's proc. etc. The waveclear using Runeglaive but without Luden's is still pretty poor. Luden's allowed for a much smoother transition into mid-late.

I honestly think Riot really wants to keep the ADCs bot more. They want the regular mids to have more opportunities and play time.

Even if this goes away you can always go back to making Lichbane. It hits harder anyways. Waveclear goes down, single target goes up.

nah runeglaive with ludens usually will hit higher because of luden's base damage.

Did you just measure runeglaive+luden's vs just lichbane?
