Could do with some Top advice

My champion pool is falling short, and I'm grasping at straws to try and keep the classic League experience going. I'm starting to realize that fun laning phases are what makes me like playing this game. Is Jax Jax worth learning the intricacies of, and would I get anything out of consistently playing him? I play some Normals almost daily and am wondering if I can get anywhere with this. Do you suggest that I play Draft Normals to practice Jax?

I'm concerned about playing Jax because I feel like I may come across a lot of bullshit """"""meta""""""" champions in my matchups that'll be incredibly frustrating to put up with. These champs appear to remove opportunities from their opponents and well, Jax seems limited enough in lane as it is. I already know that Jax is easy for Gangplank to beat, and I don't even want to know what it's like playing against Illaoi as him. This kind of thing happened a lot when Season 6 hit that it stopped me from playing Nasus entirely, and I wish I could still play him without feeling depressed because I didn't optimize my everything to stop the snowballing.

I haven't been a fan of the sweeping roster changes, but is playing Vladimir Vladimir around the same as it was? Can he be played as a snowballing damage/harasser/teamfighter still? Because I've only recently seen him build defensively/full blown tank items and it's been quite a disgusting thing to see and kinda makes me fear for the future of this game.

when you wanna enjoy the laning phase, play mid instead

Honestly I think you're looking at this wrong. It doesn't matter what champ you play.

So the way to play is simple: fucking snowball. I try to play high dmg champs like irelia or Darius and kill my opponent early levels. Then I roam and kill the jungle at his buff. Then I roam and kill mid with the double buffs. Then I walk or tp bot for a 5 minute ace / dragon.

I also fucking hate laning or last hitting. So I'll fight and try to kill my opponent and If that fails I'll push up my lane and roam their jungle or to mid to pick up some kills.

Remember as a top laners your a beast, often I can gank mid better than the jhgler can. And no one expects the top lane gank.

Sometimes I kill my opponent in top. Walk through enemy jungles and kill them, walk mid and gank there, then walk all the way bot to slaughter then as well. I want them to fear me and get demoralized and for them to start fighting and blaming their top lane for not keeping me in check.

Now that's my playstyle. I play heroes of the Storm so I find laning/last hitting to be the most boring part of league. It's also why I love roaming and not just fucking g up my lane opponent, but making sure to go to every lane and snowball my team as well.

As far as Jax, he was my main top lane I started with in s2. He is really strong vs multiple auto attacker comps ie double ad, or aa bruisers like xin etc. Right now I prefer irelia because Jax really suffers vs mages. Irelia shreds them .

I personally dont like playing vlsd because I find him really easy to wreck early game. He is very strong though, just build movement speed quints and kite. I don't like last hitting so I'm not a huge fan of Vlad. I only like champs I can get a kill with at lvl 1 . Vlad inspires fear late game. But i want the enemy team scared shitless way before that.

Cheers gl reply to this if you want any clarification/ anything else I'm on my phone so pardon the typos. Top is the most fun lane for me because I can make the enemy mid and jungles life hell. Also they become so scared of me I can blow flashes by walking up to them in an intimidating way.

That's what I aim for every game. For the enemy to be fucking so scared of Me that they run when they see me. That's when you know you did your job right. When enemies scurrying away as soon as you enter their screen.

The psychological aspect of being a fkn beast is fun, try to get to that point. Gl man
