Warwick: Is his kit unchanged because he's anti-mobility?

If there's one thing Warwick is good for these days, it's stopping someone like Kassadin or Ekko in their tracks, much like Ryze or Annie. Otherwise he gets outperformed by a lot of other junglers these days, and Riot's repeatedly stated "we've axed our WW reworks for now".

Is Warwick not getting reworked because he kills high-mobility opponents?

Maybe, I remember something similar being said about Annie and her toxic ass stun/delete game-play being a counter to the hyper mobile champs. Warwick dose do good on ganks against many of the flitty, jumping, hopping, dashing, blinking champs in the game...

Mobility creep is getting out of hand though, "Unique mobility" is something Im sick of seeing in the descriptions for new champ, after new champ...

Nah, it's just because Riot doesn't have any real good ideas for what they want to do with him, and there's higher priority shit they've been working on.

It's like Yorick.

There really isn't such a thing as anti-mobility. It tends to hurt immobile champions more than it actually does mobile champions.

Maybe he's not getting his rework because:

  1. Other champs have a higher priority
  2. They didn't like the new design for him so they chuck norrised it
  3. They don't know what to do with him. Yi, Shyvana, and Mundo are better power farmers than him. There are better utility and CC junglers. Maybe there's no clear design goals to warrant a proper rework. Until they nerfed her W, Eve was a better stalker, and khazik/rengar and now kindred fit the stalker theme better. Nidalee because a jungler and is now a better were-kitty than warwick is a werewolf. If they can't answer the question "why pick warwick" they can't redesign him.
  4. His rework was interesting, but was going in a different direction than where they wanted it to go. Maybe it wasn't something appropriate for a 450ip champ.
  5. The people reworking him got bored with it and if it was boring, riot knew not to release it to the public.
  6. His rework turned out to be a bigger scope than what they were ready for and was dumped because they didn't have the assets.
  7. Werewolves are so cliche and there's no desire to work on something so banal.

My personal guesses are a combo of 1 and 4. I don't seem him as a high priority rework only because he does his thing okay enough and there's more urgent stuff to do. Add to that I don't really see a role for him in the game that isn't done better by other champs. If riot hired me tomorrow and told me my first job was to come up with a warwick design that's appropriate for a 450ip champ, I'd be a little lost. I'd want to do something like nidalee or elise at first, but we already have 2 junglers that shape-change.
