The Problem with Ryze: E and Q counter each other
Ryze has a big problem. In order for his E to be effective, he generally wants to cast it on someone in the middle of the pack to maximize damage. However, his Q is now a line skill shot. If Ryze wants to land Q's, his target needs to be out front of everything. The problem here is obvious: Ryze must cycle his abilities to have maximum impact on his target, but he will lose an incredible chunk of damage on his primary target to land either E's or Q's in most circumstances.
The solution: Look to Urgot! If Ryze lands an E on a target, mark that target while E is on cooldown. If Ryze casts Q directly on the marked target, Q will act like a homing projectile and go after that target. Ryze will still lose the opening Q damage, but at least follow-up Q's will work.
