Because Thresh can reasonably build AD, while Akali cannot build tank.

ADCs don't really need a kit (although it helps), they just need decent range, a decent AA animation, AS scaling, and some peel. While Thresh is a little short on the range, he does have decent AS scaling, self peel and a decent AA animation.

Tanks need a kit to fall back on, specifically CC. Akali only has a slow on a long cooldown. That's not enough CC for a tank.

Thresh can reasonably build AD...against another short range champion. Not trying to hate on AD Thresh, i'm a pretty big fan of it since his release, but if you were against Caitlyn you would just get poked down and made unable to farm.

Your ONE match of doing well as Thresh is not a valid proof that his comparison is bad, i'm sure someone has built tank Akali and done well.

I just played Ashe recently, and although just once, I felt she was pretty fantastic. The only problem I had was I was missing half of my ultimate, which was my fault :(

Yea but Thresh has shit range and is a one shot wonder. He also can't reliably use his spells as his Q restricts him from being able to attack.

Hey. Building attackspeed on thesh gives you 1 extra damage on each autoattack per soul you get. Its like stacking a devourer's enchant, and it gives you armor. I can't think of any better late game champion, just get zephyr, shiv, IE, botrk, boots, and Maw of Malmortius. All the damage you need, good resistances, and that first hit bonus to start the fight on a good note. You have an escape if you need it, and an ability to bring help from allies who are too far away. The kit is good, just too late game and not enough early game.
