Why does fizz have sustained damage along with his burst?

It just seems weird that someone with high burst potential can also have sustained damage with his w. Kinda annoying, actually.

hi hi its zy zy11/29/2015, 6:20:02 AM1 votes

they could revert the entire season of fizz's nerfs and take his w passive away and he'd be so much easier to balance an execute on auto attacks with a spammable targeted gapcloser that doesnt ever stop applying (even when the ability is on cd) is just too difficult to balance.

I think Fizz would probably make more sense overall as an AP light fighter/melee carry than an assassin, since any kind of burst coupled with his low-cooldown, on-demand untargetability is likely going to make him feel unfair no matter what. Instead, forcing him to spend extended periods of time next to his target would give his powerful situational defense more justification, and give his opponents more opportunities to fight against him and thereby feel like they have more of a chance overall. He would probably still be duel-focused, but could likely be able to chain from target to target a bit better, while still giving each victim more time to fight back.

Every melee assassin has some power in their auto attacks - AD champions have high AD (no shit), Fizz has his W, Akali has bonus magic damage on hit. Am I missing anyone? Katarina.

Basically, if you are melee then you have to be close to the enemy. If you are an assassin then jumping in will leave you with nothing to do until your cooldowns come up. This is not fun, especially given the squishy nature of assassins. You can't just stand next to your opponent until your cooldowns are back up.

Kat is different because she has resets. Once she jumps in and uses her combo she isn't entirely useless because her cooldowns could come up again shortly (and will do if she and her team played better than their enemies).

Every Assassin has some sort of sustained damage. Diana has her passive, Fizz has his W, AD Assassins have AD so they do plenty of AA damage, Satan has his E (His secondary role is Assassin. :3), Nidalee has very short CD's, Akali has relatively short CD's plus her passive, Ekko has short CD's plus his passive and W passive...

Only ones who don't have decent sustained damage are LeBlanc who does the most burst in the game (Veigar technically beats her because of the infinitely stacking Q and R doing 80% of an enemies AP, but LB still has higher bases and ratios overall) and Katarina who has a CD-reset for a passive so she has sustained burst as long as she gets a kill.

Even Evelynn who's a god awful assassin now due to needing to build tanky just to be able to do anything has sustained damage, as does Elise who's known for doing large amounts of burst like an Assassin.

It feels really akward that his aa's are dealing so much damage. It is easy for him to engage on you but it's hard to gank him and to engage on him. Just take away his stupid e spell and give him something that takes skill lol, or just reduce the e hitbox by a ton.
