Power Chord should augment Sona's next basic attack OR Crescendo

What if Power Chord augmented Sona's next basic attack or Crescendo when charged up?

  • Power Chord: Staccato + Crescendo = AoE nuke
  • Power Chord: Diminuendo + Crescendo = AoE pseudo-Exhaust
  • Power Chord: Tempo + Crescendo = Double AoE CC

What if Sona's ultimate was a silence instead of a stun? Hear me out, I'm not trying to say her ultimate is OP.

  • It would fit thematically.
  • It would free up some of Sona's "power budget", letting Riot shift some of her power to her basic abilities (primarily E).
  • It would let Power Chord: Tempo actually interact with Crescendo in a meaningful way.
  • Although it doesn't prevent movement like a Stun, Silence is still a VERY potent form of CC (it was taken away from LB and Kass because it prevented their targets from reacting to their burst).
  • Crescendo could receive some minor buffs to compensate, if it needed any.

EDIT: I'm not trying to say Sona needs/doesn't need nerfs or buffs...

You make the assumption that her basic abilities are in a healthy enough state to safely buff them. A quick look at her patch history quickly shows that it's not the case.

Power Cord and Crescendo are the only abilities that actually requires some skill to use.

Crescendo silencing wouldn't make much sense. Crescendo makes enemies dance, that's why they're stunned.

Crescendo making enemies dance isn't an actual mechanic of the skill, it's just a little visual flare.

Crescendo: a : a gradual increase; specifically : a gradual increase in volume of a musical passage b : the peak of a gradual increase : climax

It would absolutely make sense as a loud burst of sound that deafens (AKA silences) enemies. Sound and silence fit together thematically, just look at Cho'gath's W.

This would only increase Sona's damage on her ultimate, which she'd never use to poke with in lane. Even if she did poke with it for some reason. she'd be wasting her primary form of CC.

You make the assumption that by "shifting some power" I mean "buffing Q"; if anything I was thinking of her E.

I don't know why you felt the need to say Power Chord/Crescendo are the only abilities that require skill to use. I never implied otherwise and I'd agree with that statement. The whole point of this change would be to make Sona more interactive and dynamic...
