@Meddler: Is there any chance of an ultimate ability that resurrects a slain ally after death?

I was watching an Overwatch gameplay preview featuring Mercy (the game's resident healer), and her ultimate ability resurrects nearby killed teammates, an unusual ability in an FPS. While Zilean and Yorick (in a sense) do provide means of letting you come back from death, they have to be used before you die, not after.

I'm going to guess the consensus on the very idea is a "no", but hear me out. What if there was an ultimate like this?

#Resurrection After channeling for X seconds, revives target allied Champion, putting them at Y% of their maximum health. Costs a large percent of the caster's current (or maximum) health.

The channel is a big part of it: it leaves the caster super vulnerable, and can be interrupted by CC's. You can't try bringing someone back from the dead when someone's trying to cut you apart, after all!

Zilean ?

His ulti resurrects you after you die, it's just that you have to place the spell before the ally kicks the bucket, it's done so for balance reason obviously.

I already mentioned Zilean.

I already mentioned Zilean.

Expanded my post a little.

What is so unbalanced about a resurrection? Zilean can bring a teammate to near full health, but imagine a resurrect that is a channel and only brings back, say, 30% health and mana.

The idea is that you could use this resurrect AFTER an ally has officially died (as in, no reincarnate effect like Zilean's ultimate).

Brings no counterplay. Yorick and Zilean can do the same thing but they have counterplay.

The counter play would be the long-channel time. Zilean and Yorick place their resurrect ults on allies instantaneously, but their allies have a short duration of time to die to be resurrected. An ult that resurrects a dead target but requires you to channel for 3-5 seconds in order to do so seems fair because it leaves the user extremely vulnerable.
