The Akali and Katarina problem.

Hextech Gunblade is too strong of an item that is only picked up by Katarina and Akali. Every now and then you will see a champion pick it up that normally doesn't. Ryze, Ekko, LB.

But for the majority part, Katarina and Akali are over the top with Hextech gunblade.

All that needs to happen to Hextech gunblade is lowered damage. 175 to 253 + 30% ap.

realistic terms is 193 + 30% from when you complete the item at level 5 with 15% spell vamp and a 40% slow.

193 + 28 = 211

Both champions are able to abuse it too well.

To give some insight as to how over tuned Hextech Gunblade is. Lich bane on a level 5 Ekko does 50.2 (for the .75 x base AD) + 50% AP for Double Adaptive Shards and Corrupting Potion start. Total Damage comes out to 104.2 damage.

The difference between a lich bane vs a gunblade after accounting for shards is.

211 damage + 31.65 healing vs 104.2 damage. Total value is 138.45 difference at level 5 between a Gunblade and a Lich Bane.

That is only talking about healing from the gunblade by itself.

To give other insight on gunblade.

**Gunblade has a 40 second cooldown. Twin shadows has a 90 second cooldown. **

Twin Shadow which offers very little in the immediate early game (its pretty strong in the mid to late game) has a longer cooldown than Gunblade. Gunblade is on the same level cooldown as Banshee's and New Edge of Night.

Gunblade is extremely overtuned and a major reason as to why Akali and Katarina are strong.

The solution to Akali/Kata is a very simple one, many different ways to go about this as well.

1: Cooldown increased to 120 (same as Zhonya's) and Damage lowered from 175-253 to 125-225 2: Damage Lowered from 175-253 to 100-200 and healing lowered from 15% to 10%. 3: Cooldown increased to 100 and healing lowered from 15% to 8%.

These changes would affect the come to lane take fight and roam patterns. They aren't able to come into lane, W once gunblade with a Q + Passive for Electrocute. Effectively removing any capability of fighting back.

The cooldown changes make it so that they can't gunblade you every wave and a half.

The healing changes make it so that they aren't allowed to take bad trades and simply heal it off.

The damage changes the one shot potential at level 6.

gunblade is supposed to be compared to ludens, roa and protobelt. not lich bane.

No1 is getting gunblade at lvl 5 its 3400g and youd have to have a lvl 1 pentakill + kill your laner some more to even come close to getting it, even most games that im moderatly fed/farmed ill have gunblade by lvl 8/9 max as ezreal.

Okay? You still haven't actually proven how there is a problem with Kat or Akali, though. You've said there's one, but...where is it?

Also gunblade is the only good core item on these champions. Can't compare the gunblade slow to twin shadows either, which is cheaper, grants movespeed, and is a long ranged slow. I agree that its stupid that akali specifically can e w q gunblade aa and ur dead, but that seems like an akali op thing rather than a oops gunblade needs to be nerfed thing. Both champs get a large powerspike on the item but besides revolver the build path is kind of awkward for both of them. Also, gunblades healing is already reduced for aoe. Kat has high conditional mobility (she controls the conditions, granted) but otherwise no defensive tools. You literally go into 5 people as a melee squish and either one shot get out, 1v5 cause ur fed, or get clicked on by leo/fiddle/lulu/ any short cd cc, and die. Akali has her shroud which is broken asf but even she has counterplay (granted, less). The ap melee assassins with duel scaling should be allowed to keep their good item powerspike, as gunblade is what makes them assassins.
