Support carries?

Okay I mostly play support as Alistar Galio Nautilus Blitzcrank I build all tank/support items and if I get more than 1 kill in the first 15 min my ADC will almost always freak out.

Meanwhile I am up against a Annie Lux Veigar Nami BardSona or Teemo support who is wrecking us because they build item 3116 item 3135 item 3089 item 3285 item 3165 item 3020 and they'll finish with a bunch of kills and 100+ cs. Now I know some of these are autofills that don't want to play support anyway, but it just happens so consistently and most of the time after they get some early kills they end up not helping their team bc 1.) They are squishy and Die a lot 2.) the ADC (who should be the carry) isn't fed 3.) The top, Mid and JG played squishy champs and built glass cannon too

What doesn't seem to happen is the ADC rage quitting or the argument spilling over into the chat after the game so . . . Am I doing this the wrong way or does it just pay to screw over your ADC as long as you get some kills?

Depends on the support. If you main brand support and you do get all the kills, most people shouldn't complain. Brands dmg is so high early to mid game that he can carry a team to victory even as support. It'll all depends on who you support with. If you pick Bard and take all the killls when your adc could have gotten them, don't expect to win. Usually when utility support play bottom lane, their carry styles are different than your standard brand, karma, annie, etc support. Utility supports usually carry by creating opportunities that a team can utilise by using vision, effectively landing skilled shot/ult at key moments to create an engaging opportunity, or saving an ally champion by shields, ms buffs, heals, disengaging, creating distractions, kiting, standing on top of key ally so when opposite enemy engages them they click you instead of them, etc. These are things you'll learn with time.

Sometimes you will land a kill when it was not intentional, shit happens. You will most likely always get 1 kill as a support, you cannot change that. If your adc rages just ignore him or mute him. If you know you could have done better than you know this and you can prove this to yourself next match. You don't need validate yourself to shit heads. Just focus on improving yourself. Look at youtube videos and read reddit forums. They tend to carry good information.

It's all or nothing with me when it comes to kills. It's funny actual, but the very few times I've tried to give someone a kill it's ended up getting me killed :P

I'm a support main, and if you want to climb, you need to play carry champs. Typically that's Braum, Bard, Leona, Annie, Soraka, and Janna. Sion has been really pulling up, but truth be told, it's not so much the champ you play, but your roaming. As a support, you should be up mid-lanes backside every single time your opponents back. Get blue ward at level 9. Keep the river lit. And then just punish enemies at every turn.

Because of this, you really want to only play 3 champs. E.g. I run Nautilus, Bard, and Shen. That covers me for immobiles, needed AP, and the idiotic MF support. I also have a light rotation of Braum and Maokai but I roam far less with them since they don't have the gross pressure of the other 3.

The days of support being an ADC babysitter are over. If you adhere to that system, you're not going to climb.

Respectfully speaking, you're in your fourth year of being in bronze elo so far, so your advice is a bit hit and miss. Soraka is most definitely not a carry support. You can heal a potato player endlessly and it won't add up to much. Janna and Soraka are defined as utility supports. A good Janna can set up some amazing plays.

In low elo, carries are more often the ap support variety including the following: Annie, Brand, Karma, Sona, Velkoz, and Zyra. They put out an amazing amount of damage and if fed I've had myself out damage enemy team, if not my own team by the end.

Worst advice you're giving is saying to get blue trinket. Blue goes on the marksman and/or mid lane for a reason. As a support you are constantly meant to be clearing enemy wards. Sweeper is the must buy at level 9. In all honesty a good jungler used to switch over as well but jungle plants made it a bit easier. Still a good team has two sweepers constantly in use. Denying vision and information from the enemy team is key.

As for OP's concern in getting kills, it depends on how you use the additional income. If you are aiding your team, creating pressure and helping take objectives, it doesn't matter who is getting that gold. A level headed adc getting carried by their support knows to farm like crazy to keep relevant.

That said, never go out of the way to KS. If you get the kill, never feel bad. Just try to recall if you could have pulled back a bit if they'd still have died. When I was still learning support that was my biggest problem. I went into full kill mode without seeing the full picture.

Sure, but respectfully, I'm not named after a Big Bang Theory character, so your assessment of things isn't something we ought to rely on.

Edit: In the interest of decency, I'll take the feedback your giving re: sweeper trinket and see if that improves things for me. It's a variable I haven't tried.

Respectfully speaking, only a fool assumes things without facts. I've had this name for 15 years online in general. Big Bang Theory is only 9 years old. It still amazes me that people think the name Sheldon sprung up only upon that show's creation.

I was attempting to inform politely but i'll be frank since you're interested in snark. You show no signs of improving in 4 seasons thus far if you haven't crawled out of bronze. That elo is notorious on being clueless on builds, runes, masteries and common sense. I'm not talking out of my rear end. I'm speaking as a support main since season 3. Additionally look at high elo. You may not have their skill, but you can take the good habits. When was the last time you saw a team not sweeping wards in the pro scene, hmm?

Exactly. They go through a ridiculous amount of pinks (now control wards) and are constantly sweeping the map. The difference in elo tiers isn't just skill but knowing your role and how and when to do things. Think of yourself as an intel gatherer. You're absolutely right you're not just your marksman's loyal lapdog. You are their fierce protector, as well as the rest of the team's, but you are also there to get as much information as possible for your team. If the enemy support is doing their job, so are they. The only way to fight that is to deny information as much as possible, hence control wards and sweeping.
