Can you get demoted from s5 to b1?

Just wondering because my friend said you cant get demoted unless you're inactive, but Ive also heard someone say you can. Im on S5 0lp with bronze 2 mmr.

Well considering I've been demoted from G5 to S1, I would say it is quite possible. Though that did take me quite a few losses in a row to do it. In my case there was also a yellow triangle icon warning telling me I was being "protected" for now but could be demoted soon, followed by a red triangle basically saying "get your shit together or you're out".

yeah, your mmr has to be very low. so if you are losing games in Gold V when matched with like silver 4/5 then yeah you are gonna eventually demote. if you are actually gold V and just losing 50/50 then you are fine. don't worry about it.

Yes, only if you are playing like complete shit for a while.

You can, but it usually takes the MMR of a full tier down meaning that in S5 you would have B5 MMR. It's really hard to come back from that though so I definitely do not suggest pushing it to that point

You can get demoted if inactive but only if you're above Plat 5
