Riven - Quality of Life Balance Suggestion

Valor

New Passive: Not a Coward - Valor's cooldown is reduced by 10% each time Riven strikes an enemy champion with Runic Blade. Hitting 3 or more enemy champions with Ki Strike resets Valor's cooldown completely.

Cooldown: 10 / 9 / 8 / 7 / 6, ----> 10 seconds at all ranks.

Too much AD - Shield Strength: 90 / 120 / 150 / 180 / 210 (+ 100% bonus AD), ----> 120 / 160 / 200 / 240 / 280 (+90% AP).

It's not for no reason, you do realize that Riven is the only champion in the entire game with an AD scaling shield right?

Lee Sin's shield originally also scaled AD, however Riot changed his shield to scale AP. Riven should not be any exception.

you realize that giving her an ap shield would be as if you're giving it no scaling

There's actually a lot more options defensively available to Riven if her shield scales AP. Take for instance: Zhoyas, Hextech Protobelt, Banshees Veil, etc. These are all items which maybe you wouldn't normally want snowballing, but would save you in situations where your game was snowballing out of control. Riven is one of the most useless champions in the entire game while behind, this would help relieve just a small amount of that.

For instance, let's say they actually made these changes. A losing Riven could (theoretically) build a Zhonyas and combo something like this to engage into a team fight: Valor --> Ki Burst (3+ enemies) --> Zhonyas -> Valor.

Currently in most cases, you would die instantly or be forced to Flash away, however with these changes implemented Riven becomes a much more valuable asset instead.

no point in building ap when you can outsustain with damage this would just be a stupid nerf

This is anything but Quality of Life.

Riven cannot out sustain with damage when behind. Do you even play Riven at all?

Please tell me how you feel when your Riven is feeding the enemy Darius and that Darius ends up carrying the game because none of your team can stop him. Now, I won't say that in every case building defensively is a good thing because Riven is a Slayer and definitely needs that high burst damage offensive items provide, however you can't always be ahead and Riven has tons of losing match-ups.

Also, yes it's a huge nerf to Riven's Mid & Late game shield but if you are snowballing, you shouldn't be able to brainlessly shield every 3 seconds for 450+ damage anyways. I am a Riven main and I can tell you that for a fact. It's not a healthy mechanic for a snowball champion. At least with what I'm suggesting, it will require Riven to actually take action in order to get those additional shield procs outside of the 40% cdr.

I've been a main of Riven for 5 years, I understand a lot more than you probably think.
