The skill gap in low elo is just insane. Every game is one side stomping the other in an RNG matchmaking. Games are over by 10m when a champ is 5-0, but the game drags out into 40m cas low elo and the final score is some shit like 37-13. Here is losing champ select in it's finest:

Warwick: ww top new meta :) Zed: Is Zed vs malz a good match up? Too late I auotlocked. Elise: That's alright guys, I'm still learning elise so it's k.

We had a ww meta warrior, a zed who doesn't know his own match-ups and an elise still figuring out the champion!!! "Same skill level". What do you know, they all 3 lost lane when match against real enemies of my skill level. Wierd....

How is the matchmaking so bad you can get match with people still learning the game and they get stomped but somehow don't lose enough mmr to not get matched with you?? They got steamrolled. Get em out.

We need a "First Timer" tier for new to ranked. That way there is no shame to start there.

The problem with Bronze 5 is that people are going to be there for all kinds of reasons, none of them being that they want to be there. Being unable to climb can be because of almost anything, but what ends up happening is that people who are bad and are unable to climb get matched up with other people who are even worse than they are. The end result is a team of bad players getting slaughtered by a team that was lucky enough to get carried by someone who either CAN consistently carry or just got lucky.

tl;dr it's your own fault if you can't consistently climb.

The problem with low elo is smurfs. Until Riot figures out how to prevent high elo players from playing a smurf in low elo games, this problem will never go away.
