But you don't need to lose on Beast Raven Warlock theme if you enhance Master Tactician theme.

I feel like the proper way of handling Swain's fantasy would be to give him "tactician's" set of basic abilities - and take them away from him when he morphs - possibly giving the raven its own brutal active ability, replacing those 3, akin to Sion's passive. This would allow Beast Mode to be insanely powerful in itself, delivering on both of his themes. That way we get "master tactician, who's both capable, and not afraid to get his own hands dirty" - something very Swain, and very Noxian.

lol i like swain the way he is, is that a bad thing? the tyrant swain skin looks pretty sick.

But, going on archetypes am i the only one who a blind champion is so wasted on lee sin??? he has only his q to show he is blind, i feel they could have made an epic champ with that archetype of a blind monk, maybe with like permanent rek sai vision but all his skills have ways of giving him vision so he is still fun to play.

No, you're not the only one byfar. I too think he's a very unique champ...perhaps he doesn't live up to that master tactician title in game; however, since the mage update - Swain has become quite a fine pick especially after the balance changes.

A bit uninteractive with his Q and his E could be more interesting; however, I still feel that Swain has quite an iconic kit regardless. Just a VU is what Swain needs imo.

I´d be more afraid they´d make him a jolly guy with a big fish as a weapon at this point...keeping things consistent with the prior existing Champion is not a priority of the VGU team.

Yeah they clearly catered more to Galio's heritage than his actual playstyle when creating this new Power Ranger. People play a champion for their playstyle and visual thematics, not what the lore claims them to be... :/

I'm playing him for his Master Tactician personality, so no thx. Or you could do something like "Swain is the master tactician, he's clever af and shit, but in the Rift he has neither armies nor command, his back is to the wall, and he still kills you". Which is kinda what we have now.

Changing his archetype in game not only makes Swain players like me sad, it will also mean we have to wait some time to get that fantasy again. Can't have that.

They'd not even really need to change his lore much at all, just... like, his title. That's next to it. He can still be the not-quite-human crippled old man who leads some of Noxus' most elite forces from the front lines so long as it's emphasized not that he's good at planning, but that he turns into a giant demon bird.

This is the problem I have with a lot of Riot's VGUs, they laser focus on one aspect of a Champion and just trash the rest. Makes the Champions feel like they lose depth; even if they replace the old stuff with new stuff, it still feels like a net loss of characterization. They unnecessarily replaced things with just different things, instead of just changing the things slightly to better fit the main theme.

They don't listen to the mains of any champion, regardless of who that champion is. Riot goes into a design with an idea in mind, then they filter out any information that doesn't already lead them to their intended design goal.

I'd actually like to see him become more of a tactician/zone control mage, that is already reflected in his W and updated Q. The E is pretty mess of a spell, non-interactive, boring, could be completely replaced. I'd personally like to change it for a team utility spell that directs his team's movement, a Bard portal type, maybe directional movement speed buff, a wall spell, conditional heal (or combined, is it too crazy to let Swain cast a fixed-renged wall with "a camp" on Swain's side of the wall which heals allies standing on it per a spell cast? Might have some pretty broken interaction with poke mages and Sona/Soraka, but hey, interesting idea, right?)... I presonally thing his ultimate is way too iconic for him to be changed and as many people said, I have no problem with it cause it's like havng Swain being powerful mentally as a leader and also physically when an enemy tried to approach him.

They actually didn't, they made it a healthier spell and moved it to his W, not to mention Swain's ult is WAY more iconic for him than Galio's for Galio - or did you never hear about the BIRD BIRD BIRD meme?
