Use the gutted Thornmail to autowin PvE.

**Old Thornmail: **

A minion smacks you for 15 damage 30% of 10 vs. 0 magic resist: 5 damage per hit

Jungle creeps attack you for 50 damage 30% of 50 vs. 0 magic resist: 16.7 damage per hit

New Thornmail:

A minion smacks you for 15 damage 15% of 10 vs. 0 magic resist: 2.5 damage 25% of bonus armor (114 w/ armor runes, flat armor masteries and Thornmail): 28.5 damage Total:** 31 damage per hit**

Jungle creeps attack you for 50 damage 15% of 50 vs. 0 magic resist: 8.4 damage 25% of bonus armor (114 w/ armor runes, flat armor masteries and Thornmail): 28.5 damage Total: 36.9 damage per hit

Anyone with a Thornmail now deals at least 25 damage back in response to being autoattacked, even if that autoattack would initially deal 0 damage. Every 100 additional bonus armor adds another 25 damage to this flat amount.

Imagine how fast one can melt wolves and chickens with the new Thornmail! You can just keep building tank items and you'll have a decent jungle clear (as well as minion killing), so long as you've got it. Add a Sunfire Cape to the mix and you won't even need to do anything stand around and watch creeps die!

Also consider the new Thornmail on the likes of Tryndamere. When he uses Mocking Shout, all enemy champions lose 80 AD. The damage he recieves from them is mitigated substantially (especially consider ADC crits here), but the magic damage from the new Thornmail hardly changes at all! It can also do damage to multiple creeps, which Tryndamere only has his E for. I'm calling it now - high ELO Tryndamere players will build this item. I ain't even scared that it won't happen, don't even worry I'll bookmark this thread and then bump with a post saying "I Told Yall So" in a couple months.

**TL;DR: **This is ONLY not a buff vs. AD carries; it's a buff vs everyone else and it's a HUGE BUFF vs. jungle creeps and minions! If you can overlook the 2300 gold cost it can be a great item to get early on now, especially if you're playing as someone that either gets free armor in their kit or can reduce champions' AD, or you intend to build more armor alongside Thornmail.

**TL;DR; TL;DR: **Consider Thornmail's new passive as a second Sunfire Cape with more potential; use it as such. Ban 3 marksmen. Have FUN.
