Without saying "She's fine", tell me what holds Ashe back from being buffed

Clearly it's not just a meta problem with Ashe; she is simply outclassed by numerous other ADCs. Does the worst damage, her utility rarely works (even if teams tailor to her), and she simply cannot be solo-queue picked without it being a 1/5 chance of success or less.

My belief is that her Q being a toggle holds her back from buffs. Since there's no window of downtime, it has to be a relatively weak slow. There's also her ultimate; Ashe packs too much of her power budget into it, requiring that everything else in her kit be bad.

I'd go on, but you guys know where we're going with this.

I'd rather all the ADCs that outclass her get beat down with the nerf bat.

That wouldn't help her problem of being far too niche.

If she is ahead, she becomes very overbearing. You can't escape from her, ever.

Strong kiting and utility. How does a potentially global stun, perma slow, and free (better) scrying orb rarely work?

In season 3, C9 completely proved that ashe is still completely viable in the right composition (like pretty much every champion).

That was true 2 1/2 years ago.

Due to all new champiosn having either low cooldown dashes or multiple dashes her slow has become near worthless against bruisers, assassins and tanks.

Since the introduction of Mikaels her ultimate is not more of a minor annoyance.

While her E does come in handy it's more of a support ability than something a carry would like in his kit. Not to mention that Kalista's vision gain is countless times more valuable.

By 2 1/2 years ago you mean last year, then yes.

I guess it's a good thing all carries need some of peel. That's not to mention that it's useful for chasing and against the numerous amount of champions who don't have mobility in their kits.

No one has mikael's by level 6. Let's also not forget that Ashe ult is on a 80 second cooldown at level 3 and mikael's has a static 3 minute cooldown.

Working as intended, she's designed as a carry with a large amount of utility. On kalista saying her vision utility it's countless times more valuable is completely false.

It's not like she was played regularly... A few lonesome picks by some of the world best players who can handle anything don't make the champion itself viable for the whole game. (See: Aaatrox bans during WC)

Yes, nobody has Mikaels at 6. But neither does Ashe have the DPS to win a battle even after the stun. And the duration isn't that impressive when used at lane.

And why sentinels are countless times better?

  • 2 stacks
  • longer duration
  • audio warning if a champion appears
  • FOLLOWs the spotted enemies and reveals them (Damage component: Up to 20% of enemy health)

P.S: How often do you use your ultimate on cooldown?

Which isn't a bad thing. As I said, it showed that Ashe works perfectly fine in a good composition (which in my opinion is not a problem in the slightest).

Not by herself sure, but that's why supports and junglers exist. Ashe is not intended to be a high DPS carry. But a hybrid Carry with a lot of utility.

Speculating based off her current stats on the PBE is a pointless gesture.

Depends on the circumstances. But whenever I see an opportunity.

Heavy utility while being able to focus on the standard AA damage ADC's get.

If your team doesn't need your ADC to have strong damaging abilities or mobility she's a great pick.

She's a niche champion that mostly works in teams. Not every champion has to fit every meta and ever teamcomp. aka 'she's fine'

Honestly, Ashe is a support.

Think about it:

Q slows but deals no damage W deals damage in an arc. E scouts for vision and grants additional gold on kill R deals minor damage, stuns, and scales of AP.

Let's compare her to, say, Miss Fortune: Q deals damage to a target and additional damage to a target behind it (scales of AD & AP) W increases magic damage and scales, while increasing attack speed. E deals damage and slows targets in the AoE R deals high amounts of damage to all targets in the AoE.

Ashe has 2 abilities which real damage, which are both on very long cooldowns. Almost every other ADC has a kit which grants them the ability to deal damage on most, if not, every ability.

Ashe's passive: Ashe gains 4/5/6/7/8 Focus stacks every second while not attacking. Ashe will critically strike on her next basic attack when she reaches 100 Focus stacks

I'm not particularily sure just how exactly this passive works on a classified ADC (granted most ADC's in my division have no idea what auto-attacking is in the first place) It's basically a buff on your next attack for not attacking. This is stellar for harassing enemy champions, not really beneficial at all for creep farming, and actually a detriment to the bottom lane meta.
