Good question. I would think yes as if I Hunt-TD with a Shiv, the shiv proc crits, so I would imagine that empowered = natural critical strike. Could be wrong though, but not sure why it wouldn't since it breaks other rules already.

No.
"Takedown is an on-hit effect ability. The triggering attack for Takedown will apply other on-hit effects and can critically strike as normal. The attack is always displayed as a critical strike as long as the target is marked as Hunted, presumably for reasons of clarity."
So the attack causing takedown to proc can critically strike, dealing increased damage, and visually takedown always crits on hunted targets, but increased crit damage does not affect the base hunted takedown (unless you critted on that basic attack proccing it). So, the crit shown is purely visual unless your basic attack actually crits.

Maw of Malmortius gives up to 95 AD, IE gives 80 + 25% crit chance + 250% crit damage, Triforce gives a powerful Sheen proc (which will not crit, but will be added into your takedown's damage to be displayed with the entire damage), 30 AD, and 15% crit chance.
Assuming you were low hp and critted with a triforce proc on an extremely low health jungle mob it's possible.
