so called zero tolerance for hate speech seems to be a fallacy

a few days ago, i played a norm game and got matched with a 4 man group. i declared intent for shaco because i had a desire to learn him, and one of the players in that group banned him, and told me "you arnt playing shaco (N word)", and after confronting him about his choice of words he spammed the word repeatedly, and told me he wouldnt get in trouble for it and had done this already. seeing as how he was a pre-30 account, he had probably been banned before and was testing how he could get around the system.

I had a feeling that the automated system doesn't pay attention to pregame messages, and the player was banking on me dodging so i couldnt report, so i suffered through the game, carried his ass with Evelyn, and made sure to screenshot what happened pre-game... and link it in the report comments.

he played several games in the last few days so.... is anyone even reviewing reports? how do you expect people to believe anything you say about your automated system being effective and dealing with trash like this promptly when things like this happen?

The pre and post game chat isn't automated. Someone has to manually check that. Once they do, his ass is out.

Ikr, there was this game where someone first called me (idk if i can say those words as they are here so i'm not gonna do that) the offensive way for calling gay, lesbian and transgender people (and i was like okay pick something i can't be all those at the same time) for the only reason that my club tag is lgbt

And he/she was not banned since I actually played with the very same pleasant person like 6 days after (i'm lucky lul)

(And I truly don't get it, it's not like I did anything bad that game, I ain't a great player but I was helping, and I kinda carried, and I almost never flame (sometimes i get really tilted and I ping 1 or 2 times the question mark but that wasn't even the case that game, i was being optimistic and kinda nice))

Anyway what's pissing me the most with these community isn't even the flamers/toxic people/racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, islamophobic [...] but the fact that when someone is harassed there is never someone to pick their side, to try to help them at least. I see everyone complaining about the toxic players and everything but the very first thing we can do is to be supportive towards the player being flamed and that never happens (or i always end up with shitty/apathetic people)

Yes, Zero Tolerance is a fallacy. I have sent SEVERAL SUPPORT REQUESTS over 3 years to Riot showing derogatory remarks. They have yet to offer a genuine response and refuse to ban the players. Riot has a policy that you aren't suppose to share the names of players. Therefore when you submit a player's name for toxicity, they either can't or won't do anything about it.

Its true, I once played a game with 2 players spamming nazzi propaganda and insulting everyone from jewish to black people and women. Guess what? They are still playing today, 0 fucks given from RIOT...

I just played a game of flex Q and it was horrible. I had a 3 q on my team. My Lulu (who was part of the 3) decided that after I asked her to use E and W on me during an already rough game decided to call me bad and the three began to flame me. Through which they slandered me and tried to get me banned. They had told the enemy team that I had called them racist terms. That I was threatening them and even included some hate speech. League being known for its toxic community, the enemy team from what was said in chat agreed and reported me. Does the automated system pick out these things or will it auto ban even without checking what was said. I feel when friends get together they can easily gang up on an individual and turn the rest of the players against them.

Pre and Post game lobbies are the weak point in the system, but supposedly the report comments do get looked at to trigger manual reviews of that kind of thing. I suspect he's got to build up enough of a record to be noticed first if he's not saying it in game.

Their use of the term "zero tolerance" is a really poor choice of words. It's really only zero tolerance in that they don't care why you use it, and there's no getting out of it once you are punished.

Lil Lewd Witch4/3/2017, 7:34:43 AM1 votes

I mean that would trigger chat restrictions. He can still play games none the less

In those regards, it's usually why I'm as specific as I need to be for my reports, if it ever comes down to it. In rare cases, if you truly believe more may be required, I'd suggest a ticket through the site itself. This'll allow you to add evidence to what the system itself can't see, allowing Riot's appropriate branch of staff to do what needs to be done. The response probably won't be as immediate as the system itself, but special circumstances naturally come with those problems, unfortunately.

I was just in a lobby (someone else dodged), where three of the 4 other lovely humans I was randomly selected to play with began to spout Nazi stuff for no apparent reason. Here's an idea : put these people in modified games where they are playing AI (with randomized real-sounding names) and make two of their champ abilities not work after some predetermined length of time or number of kills.

Maybe they can be unwittingly moved to a toxic server so that Riot can keep taking their money and these people can hate speech each other to their hearts content.
