Her only support ability increases by 15 per level and has a 0.2 ap ratio. Or, if you wanna call it 30 per level and 0.4 ap ratio, that's fine. 90% of the time you will only hit once, but either way it proves my point that her shield is weak.
Knight Sky2 votesher shield is def weak, but you dont pick her supp for the shield. You pick it for the cc and damage, like zyra. Both have snares, slows, and solid damage. (im a mastery 6 lux supp player). However, if the lux does not buy a sightstone then she is a scrub and not supporting.

Sexualsaurus2 votesYou can say the same about orianna with her abilities but the problem with playing a champion such as lux as a support is that she is very item reliant. Compare that to a brand, morg, zyra or velkoz who all have good base damage to begin with and then later on provide good aoe abilities that can take advantage of cheap items such as 
to spread alot of aoe slows to the enemy team.
Lux's utility best serves as dueling power for mid lane the same as champs like syndra, xerath and anivia.
Quil Evrything1 votesit's weak, unless you BUY FREAKIN SUPPORT ITEMS AND USE SUPPORT MASTERIES. then you get a 10% bonus and another 10% bonus or somethinglike that. maybe even 15% PLUS movement buff PLUS damage or attspd buff.
plus unlike morg, it's a GROUP shield.

Kids bring her bot, because they can't play real supports and wanna do big damage. If you want shields, bring janna, lulu, even karma. Stop ruining the position with lux, malz, annie, brand, ( even zyra, she is designed as mid mage ) ... Thank you
Baron Barian1 votesI personally find that Lux supports don't actually do their jobs as supports. They almost usually play as if THEY are the ability power carry, neglect their actual adc, and just don't actually build for support.
On a semi related note, I've been seeing a lot of supports not buying sightstones lately.
