I would agree with you, if gnar wasnt so rarely played atm. But... there are more annoying champions in top imo. While gnar has infinite poke, he has trouble actually killing you out of his mega form. But people like Vayne Garen Vladimir ... they are antifun.

Champions like gnar Kennan and jayce are dumb because they get rewarded for playing like pussies. You just sit at tower or behind your minion wave poking out the other laner and they can’t do anything about it.

I am guessing you haven't played any of the 3 champs. All 3 of them are pushers, they are very often overextended because they need to bully you in lane. Just try playing them in the way you described and you will see.

As someone who plays gnar

Yea just charge him after he hops, it's got a 20 second cd and he's incredibly squishy early on

Alternatively fight him when he's mega form, since his damage does down and all his abilities has quite the wind up and don't stand beside walls
