It's kind of funny how much u loses games in lose streak.

"HI Player, I see u are on pretty win streak. We can't accept this. Here, there is a lose streak we have made for you. Have fun summoner" Like what the fuck? No matter how good u play, u MUST lose in lose streak. Suddenly, there are feeders and trolls in your team, because u must lose game. And same with win streak. U can play like a totall shit and u will still win the game. Hey Riot, is there fkin hidden algoritm for that or what? I feel like Im forced to be stuck in my elo because of those lose streaks. Everytime Im doing good, "suddenly" I get bad players in my team. Not funny.

Yea there is no way that kind of shit is coincidence...and I wish I was being sarcastic here.

It's statistically improbable to have streaks like that yet it happens on a daily basis to pretty much everyone I know.

It is already a known fact that riot themselves said you are LITERALLY not allowed to have a winrate above 55% and a winrate below 45%

Games are made to be won 50% of the time and lost 50% of the time.

50/50 :)

Actually, I'm pretty sure 40% are gueranteed loss, 40% are gueranteed win, and 20% can go either way

50/50 puts you where you belong. Diamond or challenger players will have 75-90% winrates up until about a tier below their true rank.

I thought it was already confirmed they used fixed matchmaking to balance out a single player using the 5/5/5/5/5 vs 5/3/7/5/5 formula. If a player is on a win streak they'll automatically place him with worse players to balance him out. They actually try there best to force 50% win rates on players by throwing people into matches they wouldn't normally belong in... rather than just balancing everyone equally.

Also, the main reason they want to redo the entire ranked system next season as the current system systematically punishes players. Good players constantly have to not only win lane but also make up for the player thrown on to the team to stop the streak. This also causes players who underperform to be thrown into skill matchups they struggle in - basically, everyone loses.

Wouldn't be such an issue if League wasn't a snowball game where a single inconsistency can feed a player.

Breaking a streak = tilt = worse play = more losses = more tilt = even worse play. . .

etc.

You tell yourself you aren't tilted, but you are.

not really...those situations usually have teammates who are obviously having a hard time. I didn't believe it for a long time, but the more you play league the more you realize that its real

this is another reason why i stopped playing ranked...

like losing once every ever 3-4 wins doesn't really stop me from climbing

but when i win 9 in a row and suddenly the system is like, "oh.. he thinks he is good does he? lets see him try to carry THIS"

and im like.. WUT.

like dude if im doing better if my MMR is higher place me with BETTER opponents with BETTER teammates

not the SAME opponents with WORSE teammates.

i was getting +33 per win

then riot was like.. "he is climbing too fast lets give him 2 afks three games in a row. following by an INT feeder"

then not only do i lose the LP for those losses i had ZERO CONTROL OVER,, but mrr gain is like down to 18.

and I'm going to post this video every time

this is the day i decided to stop playing ranked

my 2nd to last game was this

https://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2776112923/207008136?tab=overview

me and vayne WORKED OUR ASSES OFF to pull back and end with a victory. I added vayne as a friend. but he had to go..

so i qued up again

next game i got this

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MrouZHBWQ4M

their Sivir was already 2/0 because i had set up an early free kill on her but i didn't know vayne was a moron and she died and ended up getting me killed as well

finally siver overcommits to a tower dive... most of my abilities are on cooldown but i was able to summoner 3 to keep her in tower range

and close enough for my abilities to come off cooldown

then Vayne summoner 4 INTO siver Q.. gives her a free kill, but ALSO the triumph heal with allows her to stay alive and kill me in return as well.

every other ranked game i have played since them was a friend asking me to duo with them. or people inviting me to flex (which i treat the same way as unranked)

Exactly, the system is controlling your match result by select your opponent elo.

I remember in S4 S5 S6, there were a lot good games for me in which the players had similar skill levels and it was fun. However, I think the match making is broken now - it can no longer find the balance point. Just like what you said, it sometimes gives you opponents that are too weak, and sometimes gives you enemies that are too strong, but rarely put you into a match where people have similar abilities.

For me, apparently the system is trying hard to force me lose by giving me platinum enemies. Well done Riot.

Can confirm the existence of win / lose streaks. When I played ADC I would win a few games then lose the same amount. However since returning to my jg role and 1 tricking shyvanna I have blown through silver and am now gold and have yet to experience a lose streak. I may lose a game or here (especially if not playing my 1 trick) but for the most part its pretty consistent win streaks with no lose streaks.

I play a lot and I see the pattern everytime lol.

Humans are amazing at finding patterns even though there are no patterns, actually. If you just look at a limited selection of outcomes you can easily find patterns where there are none.

but at least that keeps us on 50% winrate . congrats riot for never ban some fckings ^^

Riot themselves said somewhere that you need a 50% winrate to progress. Indicating it's where they want us to stay. If we progress too fast, we might stop playing as frequently and they won't want that. Just speculation tho.

You are either matched up with bad players, or you are matched AGAINST bad players and maybe 1 or 2 poor guy in his loose streak. There's no other outcome possible in matchmaking and this is very sad

I think there's a name for this. Some kind of cognitive bias? Displacing blame onto something that is out of your control, to make it easier to cope with.

Hibeki2 votes

the evidence is in your face dude. The rank distribution of this game is the worst in gaming history, and for this playerbase to not have anyone in the game with over a 60% winrate with 300+ games place is factually impossible without game manipulation.

The infrastructure required to run the extra code just to calculate all of the extra info needed to forcibly give people winning or losing matches would be far too expensive to maintain as a business. For a single player it wouldn't weigh on the system too much to run the few extra lines of code, but multiply that by every user concurrently logged in and playing on your region's server at any given time. That's a lot of times to re-run the same lines of code. And besides, it would double queue times because the pools of players available to matchmaking would have to be split in two (people owed wins and people owed losses).

50% win rate is the outcome of the system, a byproduct. It's not a setpoint that Riot uses. With setpoints, you can tell the system what you want, in this case, to match players so that everyone has a 50% chance of winning, but it leaves out all sorts of important factors. So it fails to be accurate, and tends to over or under estimate players' skill levels. This leads to unintended imbalances in matchmaking, aka win and loss streaks. If you're playing at your actual skill level with people similar to you, you will have a 50% win rate because your chances of winning against people of the same skill level as you are 50/50.

It's the same as a control system, the system attempts to correct for the changes in your MMR by matching you with people it thinks are at your new skill level, but because your MMR is still changing (be it from a win streak, or a loss streak), it messes up and can over/under shoot, and then wind up putting you in a match you don't belong in. Now multiply that by 10 because there are 10 different players who's MMR may or may not accurately reflect their true skill level. To be honest, I'm surprised matchmaking works at all since things can get ten times as wonky.

Riot should be using PID control to more accurately predict people's skill level instead of whatever they're doing with MMR.

See here for an example of what your MMR would look like compared to your actual skill level. The colorful lines are examples of MMR as it changes over time, and the flat reference line is the setpoint (your new skill level / MMR) after a change has occurred. In reality your skill level is constantly changing and it won't look as flat, but the idea is to show how a system's outputs oscillate when responding to a change.

Tell me something about it. I dropped from Diamond V 50 LP to Plat V 75 LP in two weaks. Having loose wins about 4/30. And now when I totally stopped care and just play champs that I have not played for a while for fun, I won 6 of 7. Your contribution to climbing was never so low. Reason is Duo Queue. You can see it on pro scene. All the boosting strategies are about to get somebody overfed. And well you can't match two players. You just can't. In last season there was at least gold share. Now after that changes to have gold only for killing one, game become uncaryable by solo trying. Azir
