There's no reason to buy rune pages anymore.

What's the point of having to buy them anymore?

You can change them during the champion selection, it's a waste of BE....

Edit: Apparently being lazy is still a reason to.

I have 18 currently and want more (I had 15 before runes reforged). I like having predefined pages for my mains and a few generic cookie cutter builds for my less frequently played champs without having to deal with it in champ select (because I prefer to set up my runes at my leisure).

I like having pre-made pages, so buying Rune Pages is still somewhat appealing. It saves me around 30 seconds in Champion select and makes sure that I don't select a stupid rune in panic. To put it briefly, having more Rune Pages is a minor convenience.

They are not at all priced like they are a minor convenience. Paying 6300 BE or 590 RP for a minor convenience seems way too expensive! Could the price perhaps be reduced to one more befitting of a minor convenience, like 1350 BE or less?

I have 19 and only use 1 :^)

Its not always easy to just change. i could use 1 or 2 more pages lol. Something i can use for burst and sustain pages.

I really like having a couple of presets for my mains. Or one single called "adc" for when I get one in ARAM. I don't always trust myself to make the right choices on the fly, especially regarding roles I am not very familiar with. But simply having 1 runepage called "stuff" that gets changed practically every game works nicely also.

I like having the option to click on a page and not have to completely rewrite them all from the ground up every game, even if am gonna do small changes here and there in the end.

Sorry, but that just ain't true. They're plenty useful. If you wna adjust them each and every game, go ahead. I prefer to use my time on other things.

I consider not spending 6300 IP on rune pages (up to 100k+ IP investment total) a big time saver. All that time playing League spent on rune pages? Naw thanks.

I have 13 rune pages atm and all 5 of my precision rune pages always have something different. I did this for 2 reasons:

  • I'm lazy in changing some parts of my runes for one champion since I play different champions
  • I have different things like a different secondary rune path or different runes on one path and the other to optimize different champions.
  • An example of this is that I run Legend: Bloodline on Yasuo but for all my other Precision rune pages, I run Legend: Alacrity. The reason is that for someone like Yasuo, the extra lifesteal from Bloodline is more optimal than having the attack speed Alacrity can give.
  • Another example is that I have 2 Domination Pages: 1 for normal Assassins (Zed and Ekko) which uses Electrocute and Relentless Hunter and the other is optimized specifically for my Blue Kayn set up which runs Predator instead of Electrocute and Ingenious Hunter instead of Relentless Hunter to maximize my usage of Predator.

I like having the option of click on one and have it set for a specific champ or group of champs. I am more able to converse with team mates this way, and make sure my summoner spells are set, and skin selection for wards and champ. You are also thinking mostly draft. Blind pick and ARAM etc, you have about 70 seconds total at most.. less if everyone locks in. Draft you could have roughly 5 minutes.

that is very true

But you're still getting value from all those rune pages you had to buy years ago! There's no need for any realistic compensation!

smh

CithriaC1 votes

Weren't the refunds reasonable compensation?

AMYS GRAVE1 votes

They didn't refund rune page RP purchases at all, they gave out mystery skins. Like, cool i got bad skins for champions i don't even play. The only one i'll likely ever use is the red xerath one which is of chroma quality.

If you bought all of the champs and have a lot of BE left over, might as well buy rune pages.

For conveince, laziness, people don't wanna edit their pages every game. Its really annoying.

I have about 10 pgs, and that seems to be enough for almost every champion/role.

Stevev451 votes

If they got rid of them, there would have been a bigger demand for refunds.

i only buy 2, since i have too many champs to remember

Is it true that new accoutns get 3 pages instead of 2?

Iffy Jarl1 votes

I usually end up changing my runes anyway based on the match up so I don't really care for buying more pages

It's easy having a page ready for champions you play frequently, alot of times im alt tabbed while in champ select

Fawksea1 votes

even before with the old system i'd just have a page called "make it on the spot" and use that 99% of the time, new system comes out, i make an ekko jungle page, always forget to use it, sticked with the make it on the spot one, took me 2 days to know every rune name/place/effect by hand

Ahri Baka1 votes

Not only about Laziness but you can't only think about runes in champion select everytime

TengenToppaGnar1 votes

At most you only 3 Runes Pages. 2 That will "mostly" remain static so you never have to scramble to make a new page if you're an indecisive little snit, and a third for haphazard, I got filled into another role page.

Decrous1 votes

I have 20 rune pages and i only use 1 :<

Wait, you can buy rune pages? They said during the development of the runes rework that they wanted to remove rune page costs......
