Why is Frozen Mallet still in the game?

Quite literally, the only champions who build this item are Yasuo (god knows everyone hates this piece of work already) and ranged champions that end up in top lane like Teemo and Kennen or Kog'Maw coming from the typical ADC role. Yasuo becomes frustratingly difficult to peel whilst he auto-crits you to death whilst the item on ranged champions makes any melee without a gap-closer or mobility absolutely worthless after one auto-attack. For all of the items that have been removed over the years, I'm baffled this 'thing' still exists.

RIP: Atma's Impaler, Deathfire Grasp, Force of Nature, Spellbreaker, Wriggle's Lantern, etc...

Could've sworn there was a Riot post in 2013/2014 saying that they would get rid of Frozen Mallet eventually... No luck so far

If they get rid of Frozen Mallet, they should remove Rylai's as well. :/ Its pretty much the same vein as Frozen Mallet.

Same thing for Mejai's. Why? Easy, they removed Sword of the Occult, which did the exact same as Mejai's but for ad champs.

Remove one item, then remove the other item that does the exact same thing.

Rylais is a 20% slow that albeit is aoe but isn’t as super niche as frozen mallet. It also wasn’t balanced around all the kits it’s used on like viktor Viktor his ult gets to hits you for all the ticks as longs as you don’t have a dash or blink and then Frozen Mallet because of the intense slow characters with hefty movement enchancers like vayne passive yasuo dashes and teemo W makes it supremely difficult to 1v1 them either at a powerspike or if they’re even alittle bit ahead.
