So, about adaptive damage

I was playing ARAM, got Gathering Storm on Sejuani, and I build Abyssal Mask, Sunfire Cape, and Iceborn Gauntlet. Also, ever since I started playing Sejuani back in 2015, I don't think Sejuani's had anything other than AP ratios and %HP ratios.

So why when equipping Gathering Storm she gets ADinstead of AP? I thought I read about most champions havind pre- dispositions towards one type of dmg or another, but does that not work when you literally haven't bought any AP, in this case?

I ended up buying Liandry's which I really didn't wanted, and that game me my AP, but in the end I'm just wondering what's the deal with adaptive.

You need to build some ap for the adaptive damage be ap.

Adaptive should be giving you what you have more off. I think for AP it compares to bought bonus AD. So if you have zero AP, then it’ll consider your base AD as higher (which it is). But if you had like 1 AP and no bonus AD, you’d be considered AP for adaptive.

I think.

Adaptive gives Sej AD and not AP because her AP ratios are worthless. Her total non-ult AP scaling is only 70% and adding her R only adds an extra 80%. So without using R you're only getting 70% of your AP as damage. If you AA once, which you need to in her combo anyway and will obviously do when clearing you use 100% of your AD, let alone multiple AAs.

Sej gets AD because AD is a better stat on her.
