Build flexibility dying out with each VGU?
I mean, don't get me wrong, I totally support Riot ramping up the VGU production and with the exception of Galio, Riot has done great on the Art/Theme side of things. And even the kits themselves.
But one thing that I miss however is the flexibility of builds that the old champions have. Like pre-VGU Warwick for example. While Warwick's current kit is quite good and innovative, one thing I loved about his old kit was that he could build just about anything and it wouldn't really be a waste. Current Warwick however, I mean, in theory you can build bloodrazor on him but it is objectively inferior to cinderhulk.
That is one reason I like playing current Udyr, Jax and Yi, because you can build almost anything with them. With Warwick though, I feel like you're stuck with stacking HP. Anything other than tank isn't really viable on WW. Don't get me wrong, objectively speaking, his VGU is objectively one of the best that Riot has done thus far. I just miss the flexible itemization that old WW used to have.
That is just one example, but the older champs have more flexibility in their itemization compared to the more modern ones. Of course, not all older champs are like that, but many of them for certain. I certainly hope that Nunu will keep some of that flexibility
Anyone else who likes the flexible itemization of some champs?
