New Rylai's is Great, But we Need a New NLR Item

I love the new Rylai's (because i don't play mages) but I also recognize that we need a new late game big ticket AP item to replace it.

Archangel's is rough to build, and it always will be. Even having no other options won't make players build it on Brand or Viktor, for example.

Deathcap is raw AP. To be honest, Deathcap's power varies so wildly based oj the champions AP ratios and whether the champion has defensive AP ratios (like Lux's W) or not. It's also ridiculously expensive.

Ludens will probably remain as the AP item to rush, but Mage players need more than one item late game.

They could change item 3030 into something more useful

No we don't. There is already too much AP in the game as is, especially when Morrelo got buffed and Luden's was introduced after DFG got removed.

There is no void being left behind by Rylai's. Mages will just start building ludens or a hextech item. Or, you know, actually build Dcap.

Depends on the mage and the situation/matchup? The way it should be?

Well yes. I think Deathcap should be removed actually, and other AP items have their AP and costs increased accordingly. Remove the slow requirement from Liandries, make tear stack based on the mana cost of the spell used to proc it, would have done a very different thing to Rylai's, and a different passive for Abyssal.

Instead, we continue to have ridiculous pigeonholing for half the AP items and half a mage's build is "must have every game".
