Why would I want mages in the jungle? Well ganks sound hilarious and terrifying while it would also mean less 
in my face.
Nidken1 votesI personally think Riots previous jungle meta in S6 was really good. Junglers needed to pick between farming or ganking (unless you were Nidalee or another fast clearer) and failing a gank usually cost you a fair amount of gold and xp.
Right now, any jungler that can stay healthy and gank often is busted and has too much influence on the outcome of the game. Because of this, we now have all these jungle nerfs which in turn is pushing a lot of non-meta picks completely out of play.
I just find it funny that making junglers gank more was the original intention of the preseason.
