He seems to be a champion just like any other, and his kit sounds fairly powerful when taken at face value, so I don't quite get why I hear a lot of people say that Aatrox is underpowered and isn't a great champion. Can someone explain this to me?

ReshiKillim4 votesHis damage scaling and tankiness scaling are underwhelming. His kit is pretty cool, and I like Aatrox. But he needs some changes to the types of scaling as well as the numbers to be a healthy champion.
He can be out-sustained, out-damaged, and out-tanked. Which is why he needs adjustments to what he scales with.

In season 3 people said he was the better version of Irelia but the positions have in some ways changed due to balance.

Dark Flight would maintain its current base damage, but would instead scale with bonus HP rather than bonus AD.
Blood Thirst (Healing Toggle) would heal 25/30/35/40/45 + 1/2/3/4/5% of missing HP per three hits, doubling under 40% HP, quadrupling when under 15% HP.
Blood Price would consume 6/5.5/5/4.5/4% of his max HP to do 40/50/60/70/80 + 3/4/5/6/7% of his max HP as bonus damage every third hit.
So a skilled Aatrox would benefit greatly from microing his Blood Thirst/Blood Price, and Aatrox would be more geared towards being a mid-late front line fighter/juggernaut.

(lol)

Anything people say, you can not really comment on since you have 0 experience with the champ. Kit sounds powerful out side of any context is completely meaningless unless you consider other champs and itemization.
Go try out attorx if you think he is good. With what you play at, anything can be cheesed through anyways.

I do in fact have zero gameplay time on him. I asked out of curiosity because I keep hearing that he is a bad champion and I was wondering what about him was so bad, because he has appeared multiple times in the normals I play in (so he's obviously more popular than pre-rework Yorick).
On the outside, a built-in second healthbar and revive sounds like a powerful passive to have on a top lane champion, and his Q and E give him gap closing and cc. Forgive me for being vague, Mister Hostility.

Just cause i am not kissing your ass does not mean i am hostile. What i said is true, what you play at anything can cheese through. Go try him out if he sounds good to you. Try something new instead of being told everything in your life, It is just IP.
Even if i tried to tell you why he is bad, but you lack of game understanding and numerics is obviously and painfully low. It would prevent any meaningful conversation to be had on a deep level. Notice how no one is even bothering to talk numbers to you.
To bad you can not understand real talk and just want people to kiss your ass. Please next time include that you want to be babied and told what to do. I would not even bother with my post, if you had.

E) Kit has nothing to do with lore nor theme
