Spellblade Rework

item 3057's Spellblade: After using an ability, basic attacks burn targets for 75% base Attack Damage physical damage over 2 seconds for the next 3 seconds. This is considered as an on-hit effect.

item 3078's Spellblade: After using an ability, basic attacks burn targets for 75% base Attack Damage true damage over 2 seconds for the next 3 seconds. This is considered as an on-hit effect.

item 3100's Spellblade: Unchanged

item 3025's Spellblade: Unchanged

  • Sheen goes from being a burst item in a burst damage meta to a waveclear item when most crit marksmen and certain solo laners struggle with waveclear
  • Thanks to its true damage (memes aside), Triforce's Spellblade focuses on combatting resistance-stacking instead of just nuking squishies and can no longer be abused alongside armor pen from items or %damage from runes/keystones
  • Both Sheen and Triforce's Spellblades now encourage autoattacking multiple champions in a fight instead of picking off a single target
  • Sheen and Triforce now have synergy with Runaan's, giving longrange marksmen that are currently struggling a unique AoE build
  • Sheen/Triforce can't be abused by Guinsoo's but don't inhibit it either as the initial damage tick would simply tick twice

Any ways this can be abused that I'm not seeing? Did I miss anything? What do y'all think?

I really don't see how either of them are currently "fine"; care to explain?

Also Sheen/Tri have more dps than Twitch's passive already, no? Would 75% base AD true damage every 2s instead of 200% physical every 1.5s change that?

But that 200% physical damage is kept in check because:

  1. not every champ’s base ad is the same or very high
  2. PHYSICAL DAMAGE can be reduced by armor which everybody has.

TRUE DAMAGE based off of base AD is still going to not do that much to a tank like cho. It will just make it easier for the user to kill squishies because now squishies have no defense against the extra damage. The effectiveness of True damage is lessened the more hp the target has, if you want to bust tanks then stick to the actual tank busters like Vayne Fiora or any users of Bork/conq.

That just makes no sense to me at all. Sheen and Tri are two of the best items of skirmishes and 1v1’s. Its focus is spacing your auto attacks and abilities to take advantage of the enhanced proc. I think that the design of Tri and sheen are fine, but Tri maybe does need a very slight number change.

I say this because I do not see a way that this change will benefit Nasus and other champs that proc sheen with abilities and don’t basic attack a lot, it will only hurt nasus because this effect lessens his dueling power early. Which he needs to survive in this early game meta. The only champ that I can maybe see working with this change is Jax, who auto attacks a lot and procs on hit effects naturally.

Adc’s With hurricane wouldn’t need Tri for more waveclear because they already are basic attacking a lot and they are most likely with their teammates who are also helping to waveclear. Jinx doesn’t need Tri with her hurricane because she already has her Q to clear waves VERY FAST.

Ah, but Tri+Runaan's would also clear CHAMPIONS very fast.

If Nasus is literally unplayable without Sheen, maybe Riot just needs to buff Nasus in a relevant way then. Like they've been skittering around this whole time. Because of current Sheen.

So... make sheen and triforce be useless and not worth picking? That is what I am getting from this

They wouldn't be useless, but tell me with a straight face that they aren't OP.

they are not and I see no current user that would care about buying this things you are proposing. Maybe it'll be good on poke champions... oh wait they need to land an auto so... I guess tat means they'll be good on EZ and GP and no one else unless hilariously overtuned
